Invitations

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Party invitation template
  • Crayons or colored markers

HOW TO DO IT

  • Print out invitations from the template.
  • Have your child color them with crayons or colored markers.
  • Mail or hand deliver to each guest.

DECORATING IDEAS

Ghostly Graveyard 
Lure party guests into your graveyard with a spooky array of tombstones and creepy creations!

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Cardboard
  • Craft knife
  • Glue
  • Safety scissors
  • Ruler
  • Black tissue paper
  • Markers
  • Metal coat hangers
  • Duct tape
  • Dead tree branches
  • Inexpensive Halloween decorations (black cats, bats, Jack'O Lanterns, etc.) (available at craft stores)
  • Scary sounds tape or CD 
  • White sheets
  • Black or purple light bulbs

HOW TO DO IT

  • Fence off an outside area for a graveyard.
  • Use a craft knife to cut out tombstone shapes from cardboard.
  • Brush glue over the tombstones and cover with black tissue paper.
  • Write the guests names on the tombstones.
  • (PARENTS ONLY) Reshape metal coat hangers into a horseshoe shape, duct tape them to the back of the tombstones, and stake them into the ground.
  • Place dead tree branches around your graveyard to create a creepy feeling.
  • Play a Spooky Sounds tape or CD as guests arrive.
  • Cover furniture and bushes with white sheets for a haunting effect.
  • Replace lamps and light fixtures with black or purple light bulbs.

Halloween party games that are sure to have your group howling with fun! 

Musical Tombstones

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Cardboard tombstone shapes
  • Halloween music
  • 1 jumbo bag of NESTLÉ Halloween Candy

HOW TO DO IT

  • Place a paper "tombstone" for each guest in a large circle.
  • Then, take one tombstone from the circle and place into a separate area called "the graveyard".
  • Play music, and invite the children to walk in a circle around the tombstones.
  • When the music stops, children sit on a tombstone.
  • The child who does not have a tombstone gets to lie down next to the extra tombstone in the graveyard.
  • Continue playing until all of the children are in the "graveyard".
  • Give each child a Halloween treat like NESTLÉ Halloween Candy as they leave the "graveyard".

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 2 plastic skeletons (available at craft or party stores)
  • Twist ties (to reassemble the skeletons)
  • 1 bottle of orange glow–in-the-dark paint
  • 1 bottle of black glow-in-the-dark paint
  • Flashlights
  • 1 small bag of NESTLÉ Halloween Candy for each player

HOW TO DO IT

  • Number all of the bones of one skeleton with orange paint. Number the other skeleton bones with black paint.
  • Take apart the plastic skeletons.
  • Hide each set of bones in your yard or in the house.
  • Divide the children into two teams. Let them know that they are searching for the skeleton of the famous Dr. Strange! (Or whomever you choose)
  • Think of spooky names for each team. For example: the Orange Ogres and the Black Banshees.
  • Tell them how many bones they need to collect.
  • Hand out flashlights to the children to help in their search.
  • The first team to find all of the bones and reassemble the skeleton of Dr. Strange, wins the game.
  • Reward them with small bags of NESTLÉ Halloween Candy.
