Not enough time? You wake up, go to work, cook, eat, clean, go to sleep and then you do it all over again the next day. With these endless stressful days and no time to decompress, you’re bound to burn out. You need to take a few minutes for a healing moment—a time out just for you.
Making time for vacation or even taking a day off sometimes takes a lot of planning and coordination, but anyone can take 5 to 15 minutes to refresh and de-stress. These short doses of quality time add up to moments that will energize and help you feel better. Here are some simple suggestions:
- Light a scented candle. Lavender is relaxing; citrus scents help you be more productive.
- Sip a cup of calming herbal tea or if you need a little energy – try our Simplicity Mint Tea.
- Close your eyes. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Repeat this a few times until you feel focused.
- Stretch. Simple standing or sitting stretches for few minutes will leave you refreshed.
Try and create a daily routine for yourself: 20 minutes of stretching, an afternoon walk - away from the phone and the computer, read a chapter in a humorous book, or watch a video to lift your spirits. Hobbies are a nice distraction and you’ll be surprised that it may even help you relax. Crank up the music - jump around and dance.
Take a time out and replenish your soul.
