I love the spicy flavor of this coffee! It can be served as "dessert" to company. I substituted a granulated brown sugar with the strong spices and it was very tasty, you could not tell that it was not real brown sugar.

    Delicious and a MONEY SAVER

Paula LEOTTA from MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA

I tried this on a whim. We loved it - guests asked for seconds and wanted the recipe. My family likes the taste anise seed adds to food (I've only used it with meats and vegetables). I was delighted to find another use for a favorite herb. I used the dark brown sugar and found it worked quite well. Interesting taste change. We'll be making this again!!

    Roxanne Schuch from Newton, IL

Well it definetely is not a bad mix, that is for sure, but it lacks a certain pizzaz that other coffees normally have. I do like the cinamon sticks though they add the extra touch that makes it feel like something you should curl up with and drink in front of the fire

Put this hearty egg, cheese and sausage casserole into the oven early on a weekend morning and it will be ready by the time the whole family is up. An easy holiday brunch recipe! For extra variation try different cheeses, or add some ham or bacon bits.

    A Family Favorite

    Cheri Keplinger from ,

An excellent recipe to have on hand. My family loves this dish. I make it up on Christmas Eve, then, Christmas morning I just pop it in the oven and enjoy watching the kids open their goodies while it bakes. It's ready to eat about the same time as the gifts are all opened. So simple to make, yet delicious to eat, too.

    Fran Yanta from Grantsville, MD

I started making this recipe 9 years ago, but did not use Carnation evaporated milk. It was a holiday brunch casserole, a "companies coming" weekend casserole, and our favorite, grandchildrens night, casserole. The evaporated milk really adds more creamy goodness to it. The grandchildren who don't like eggs even like this.

This recipe is great! When we have friends over and they spend the night, I fix this the night before and then heat it up the next morning. It so much nicer than scurrying around in the kitchen in the morning to get everyone fed! (And you don't have to take orders to see what everyone wants:)

I made this for my Mother's Day annual brunch for my mother & mother in law a few yrs ago. Everyone loved it especially my husband. I make it alot. I reduce the fat though by using rdf JD sausage, egg beaters & 2% fat shredded cheese. It tastes just like the full fat version. My husband can't tell the difference! Great recipe to have on hand.

Lite cheese for regular same measure How many calories/fat are saved? I don't know but lots obviously

these were easy to make and the ornage flavor is exceptional. I substituted chocolate chips for the white chocolate morsels and added 1/4 cup coconut for a little extra flavor and texture. I also substituted vanilla yogurt for the plain yogurt as the store was out of the plain.

My family just loves the bakery orange/cranberry muffins. So when I saw this recipe I had to try it. I left out the white chocolate and nuts, and added 1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries instead. Everyone enjoyed their favorite muffin, only instead of from a bakery I made them myself.

What a great way to have orange and yogurt together. Great for snack or breakfast. My family just loved them with orange juice and eggs. It made a great breakfast. Then in the afternoon they were a great snack with a cup of coffee. A healthy but good food. I can't wait to fix them again. Just thinking about them makes me hungery. I've always love orange. Now, I have another item I can fix with orange in it. I may try drissling a little chocolate on the top of the muffins next time. I think that may add a little special kick to them. Chocolate does'nt hurt anything.

Served my family a basket of muffins, pitcher of fresh cold milk, a pot of coffee, and some poached eggs. Fabulous! and very easy to make. Thank you for this recipe, which is definitely a keeper.

  • Ground cinnamon, (optional)

Directions:

COMBINE sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon sticks in medium saucepan. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. ARRANGE fruit in dessert dishes. Top with sauce. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.

This recipe is very simple and takes no time at all to make. I served this delicious sauce with strawberries and chocolate syrup. It tasted wonderful!! Also, when I stored the sauce, I placed a piece of plastic wrap right over the sauce to avoid a film on top.

My family didn't care for this one. The thickness of the sauce and the heaviness of the cinnamon took away from the flavor of the fresh fruit, rather than add to it. I would suggest using less corn starch and perhaps a little nutmeg with the cinnamon.

I just made this today waiting for my friends to come in for coffee. Every one liked it, but thought the sauce was a little thick. I will make this again but I won't put as much corn startch in it...I also sprinkled it with cinnamon instead of using cinnamon sticks

    try it warm

Paula Mason from OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

I read a few rating comments prior to making this sauce, so I prepared to make adjustments for thickness and richness. I made 2 versions- an original recipe, and one with less cornstarch and fat free evaporated milk. In agreement with other tasters, the original was a bit much for fresh fruit, but it was Great served warm with warm spiced peaches and pears. We topped it off with nutmeg rather than cinnamon. The lighter version was much better on fresh sliced fruit, but I think with strawberries and grapes, we would have preferred to omit the cinnamon sticks

    Better on another dessert..

    Skye Chokel from Tucson, AZ

This was good, but I thought it was too thick and rich for fresh fruit. While I ate it, I thought it would be much, much better as a sauce for bread puddings, apple cakes, or add a touch of brandy and use it over baked apples.
