Substitute the pasta starter with a green salad or a fruit salad if you are looking for a lighter meal.

    Delicious and simple to make

If I have made this salad once, I have made it 100 times. Everytime we have a holiday dinner, my kids want this salad. I also make and keep the noodles and almonds separate in containers and take it for lunch several times in a week. Best salad around.

Easy to make. We substitued finely shredded cabbage and we've added baked, chunked chicken or turkey breast. This is a great meal for hot summer days or excellent accompaniment on a party buffet table.

    A NEW SUMMER SALAD FAVORITE

    Pamela McCandless from Auburn, IN

A wonderful summer salad to add to the menu. This is very nice, flavorful, with a very nice creamy dressing. We did want a little more zip, tang to the dressing so I added about 10 drops of Asian Hot Oil when blending the dressing. This gave it the perfect zing we were looking for. So if you like just a little more pizzaz to your meal try that. It is available at all major and Asian markets. Wonderful at room temperature or cold if made ahead!

    Outstanding for summer

    Colleen Sproul from Dayton, WA

I have made this for several summer parties and actually add diced and cooled leftover chicken breast to the salad as I mix it. Everyone raves about it and asks for the recipe! A hit no matter where I take it! Also try using bagged coleslaw mix in place of the salad greens and a teaspoon of sugar or artificial sweetener to the dressing as it is blended. Another little tweak that is great!

This is almost the same recipe my m-i-l used to make when she visited. I lost the recipe and was so glad to see it again. It's even better than I remember, I think it's the browning of the noodles and almonds in the butter that does it. I could make a meal out of it!

It was nice and different. I just served the dressing one the side so we could save the salad if it didn't get eatten. It was very good. We ran out of salad before the dressing, so we saved the dressing and have put it on many different meals. Chicken, Fish, Zucchini, and other salads. It was a very easy recipe and very tasty.

    Good

This was good but it was confusing when the recipe asked my to crumble ramen noodles and fry them. Something about the meal did not go well with my tummy though. The meal was liked but said by one family member(with a manly appetite) it should be served as a side dish. To me the meal tasted like a hamburger. Don't try to store it! It gets mushy, and hard to swallow!

I made this salad for our soup party and it was excellent! It's my new favorite salad! I loved the crunchiness of the ramen noodles and the almonds but don't add the dressing until right before you serve (it gets soggy pretty fast, but it still tastes good). I received a lot of compliments also so I will be definitely making it again for another get together.

I made this dish tonight, and it was very good. This was the first recipe that I had tried on this site that was actually good. I will be making these again. Oh, and if you can't find the Maggi Seasoning Sauce or if you don't want to pay around $2.50 for the 1/2 cup the recipe calls for, just use soy sauce or light soy sauce.

Chutney is a tasty east Indian condiment that lends itself well to other dishes and cuisines. Here, it spices up a chunky salsa, making it a great complement to any main dish. Look for chutney in the pickle or condiment aisle of your supermarket.

      Chocolate Banana Cream Pie

      ROSEMARIE Miller from SPENCERPORT, NY

It tasted good. However when you slice the pie it tends to be a bit runny.

      Shanna Warrenfeltz from HAGERSTOWN, MD

I LOVED this recipe. I had fun making it and it was so easy. I made a little mini pie for my husband and I to share, with the extra ingredients left over. It was so cute, and I had a blast making this. Delicious!

      Chocolate Banana Cream Pie

Joan Randall from CAPE CORAL, FL

Usually, I prefer a thin, flaky pie crust; but, what could be better than a cookie crust? The banana filling had great taste and left a sublime after-glow in your mouth. A plus is that there are no nuts in this recipe!

      Yummy

      annisa sanders from Odessa, MO

My husband loved it. He actually ate two pieces that same night. I read a previous review and it mentioned that it wasn't quite rich enough. So after I baked the crust and let it cool off, I spread a layer of chocolate fudge ice cream topping over the crust and then put the pudding and whipped topping on top. Will definitely make again.

      Ed Dumire from SHENANDOAH, VA

I made two of these pies for a family get-together and before I had gotten everyone served some of the older folks were asking for seconds. This is one of the best banana pie recipes I have ever tried. Will certainly make it again!

      It was OK

      Sheila Brown from NASHVILLE, TN

This pie was very easy to make. The crust was wonderful (who wouldn't like a fresh cookie crust!) but something seemed to be lacking in flavor for the filling, a little bland. My family ate it but it wasn't their fav.

      Angie Higdon from SHELBYVILLE, KY

I actually made this in a 13x9 pan and made the cookie dough from scratch. I took it to work for a co-worker's birthday along with another dish. There was none of this one left! I will definitely make this one frequently!

      "Yummy"

      Sharon Moore from Raymond, NH

Just had the chocolate banana cream pie at a family gathering. My cousin used a ready-made chocolate crumb pie crust instead of the cookie bar and it was just delicious. So that is an alternative and it is even easier to make as the crust is already prepared. I am having some friends over tomorrow and have decided, hands down, that this will be the dessert I will serve. Thanks for sharing....

The combo of bananas and chocolate chip cookie was kind of strange. The individual parts of the pie were good, but together had a weird taste.

This was a pretty easy recipe to make and was a very big hit with the family. They wanted more so I took the advice of another review and doubled the recipe and used a 9 by 13 pan. It didn't last long.

      Something different

      Elizabeth Eckley from SEBRING, OH

This was GOOD but not something that I would make often, maybe for someone who really likes bananas and choc chip and SWEET, it was just a little to sweet for me.
