Brazilian lemons look and taste more like common limes, so this lemonade recipe does not call for lemons. The touch of sweetened condensed milk gives this drink a rich, subtle creaminess while the blender creates a frothy finish. This refreshing cooler, ideal on a hot summer day or as a tasty starter, is best served immediately as it becomes bitter tasting when made ahead of time.
Ingredients:
4 fresh limes, washed thoroughly
6 cups water, divided
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk, divided
14 ice cubes (1 tray), divided, plus more for serving
Directions:
CUT off ends of each lime and cut each into 8 wedges. Place 16 wedges, 3 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk and 7 ice cubes in blender. Cover; blend for 20 seconds. (Blending longer will cause drink to become bitter.) Strain through a fine mesh strainer into pitcher to remove rinds. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Best served immediately over ice cubes or crushed ice.

I love limes so I tried this recipe out and my friend liked it more than I did. A quarter of the recipe is plenty for two people. It is a simple and refreshing drink.

Awesome summer drink (or party drink for non-alc)

I wanted something different to drink and saw this, so I thought I would give it a try. My fiance was skeptical ("condensed milk as an ingrediant...I don't know"), but she loves this drink better than me. It is very refreshing.

This is so easy to make and has a great flavor. Since I was out of limes the first time I made it, I used Lime Juice...just as good as when I made it the second time with limes. This recipe is now posted on the frig and will be used often.

This is a wonderful summer drink. Nice and refreshing. Instead of straining, I use a lime squeezer that is used for margaritas and saves time and flavor.

The lemonade sounds good, but can't you cut the rind off so you do not have to strain it??

Such an intriguing recipe

I zested the limes, then peeled away most of the pith and discarded it. I added all the sweet-tart fruity pulp, and proceeded with the recipe, with delicious results. I will experiment with adding fresh pineapple (no peels LOL!) and maybe a little splash of rum. YUM

Had this dish at an Italian restaurant (without chicken) and had to try it at home. It was great, fast, and easy. I can't wait to try it again, maybe sprinkle with Mozzarella and bake for a few minutes, it can only taste better. I might try it meatless too.
