The kids and I had a great time preparing the Sangria. We are not mint fans so for both recipes we did leave it out. We followed the first reciped to a T except for the mint. The second time we decided to play around and mix and match the fruit. Bot of the recipes were great and we will try them again.

    BLAND

    Laura Goodwin from ATX

VERY VERY BLAND. Please use chicken broth when you make the rice and GOSH, add salt and pepper!! Consensus with two adults and two kids that it was so plain it was not bad... But just NO taste. My 16yr old said "It has so many ingredients in it, did they just cancel each other out?" I made it EXACTLY per recipe but added salt and pepper. This recipe is not bad, just needs LOTS of flavor, the jalapeno, cilantro, onion and cheese flavors where all "lost." Very Bland.

    Melody Adams from Lakewood, WA

My husband likes the spicy recipe and I don't, but I love it without the peppers and cilantro, so when I make it, I make it first without these and put about 1/3 of it in one pan and then I add the left out ingredients and put the rest in an other pan and cook them both at the same time. That way we both get to enjoy this tasty meal.

I liked this Chicken & Rice casserole, but my kids were luke warm about it. I didn't have left over rice, so to speed things up, I par-boiled the rice & water in a large microwave dish for 5 minutes on high while I cut the chicken, etc.... for the casserole. The rice wasn't done, but it had fluffed up enough to use as directed in the recipie, and still took only 45 minutes of baking time.

I was impressed, when I was making it, I was a little worried about the evaporated milk, and we don't eat parsnips so I used carrots. But it was good. I try not to eat a lot of meat, so I ate this alone as my meal and I was filling.

    A tried and true recipe

    Kate McMillan from Grafton

This has always been my go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I change the recipe by using 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, and 2 tsp of homemade pure vanilla. I also use a mixture of milk, semi-sweet, and dark chocolate chips. Most of the time I omits the nuts, but when I use them it's either pecans or walnuts.

My son is 30 years old and all he wanted for Christmas was for me to bake and ship him these cookies. While this is hands down the best recipe, I made a tiny variation this year: half semi-sweet and half dark chocolate chips and 2 tsp of vanilla. Incredible!

L Whitewood from Newbury Park, CA

This great recipe has certainly stood the test of time. It also works as a great springboard for testing variations. I really like to substitute all brown sugar for a slightly chewier cookie. Also to Stacy G. from , KY, try adding an additional 1/4 Tsp baking soda and make sure that the baking soda has been kept sealed so that it is fresh. This should help get the rise back in your cookies. Good luck!!

    Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

    Tracy Fontenot from Carencro, LA

I make a batch of the Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie dough and make the bars in a pan as described for the bar recipe and decorate it for my kids' birthday parties. No more $40 cookie cakes from the mall for us. This will make the best birthday cake ever. I use the canned decorating icing to decorate just like the ones that you buy, only the cookie cake tastes 100% better because it is made from scratch with butter and you can definitely taste it. This is the only cake that actually gets eaten at the birthday party without having to throw leftovers because everyone loves it and it travels well if you need. I sometimes add some M&Ms baking pieces to the mix just to make it a little prettier also.

How could this recipe receive anything less than 5 stars! Yummy, yummy! I did change the recipe a bit by using 1 bag of milk chocolate chips AND about 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chunks. I also let the dough sit in the refrigerator for about 36 hours before using. The dough is a little stiff but so worth it to me! I was told that they looked and tasted like gourmet cookies and were the best cookies in the world!
