        Beautiful AND delicious!

        DEBORAH ZELASNY from Bedminster, NJ

I made this for a friend's "Italian Night" party (okay, so it's not an italian cake, but the Neapolitan part of it worked for the theme!). Not difficult to make at all, and turned out delicious! It was a big hit because it was so pretty. Mine did not come out as perfect as the picture, but still a show stopper nevertheless. I actually made this cake twice (once for Father's Day) and the first time I just sprinkled with powdered sugar. Second time I used a confectioner's sugar glaze. Despite what you might think, this cake is NOT overly sweet. You do not get an overly intense strawberry or chocolate flavor (that's what I thought at first, too). The chocolate flavor mainly dominates and it is average on sweetness. For me, the glaze is an added extra touch! The cake is delicious and moist. Guests love it!!

        Office and Family Hit!

EMILY MONAGO from BOWLING GREEN, OH

I first baked this cake for a potluck at the office and it was a big hit! It was so successful I decided to bake it for my family and they loved it too. The cake is moist and tastey and very easy to make. I have made the cake several times. The flavor that goes in last or on top dominates. My family perfers the vanilla as the dominant flavor. So I layer that flavor last. You can't go wrong with this one!

        The Batter *Will* Be Thick!

        Christine from Frederick, MD

It's a good thing that the recipe mentioned the thick batter or else I might have thrown out the whole bowl. I wasn't expecting batter as thick as marshmallow fluff! The cake was delicious, though. I dusted it with powdered sugar and served it with Light Cool Whip. It was a hit at an office birthday party.

I made this cake over the holidays. Now every party I attend they request this cake, It is so good and so easy. However, instead of the powder sugar on top I made a light vanilla icing and drizzled it over the top. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good.
