I found the lemon too strong. Subbed rice vinegar for more balanced flavor.

Creamy but NOT Tasty
Leslie K from

I was looking forward to making and eating this after reading all the wonderful reviews. My family and I ate it, but threw the leftovers out. I will never make this again. The taste was off, it was not enjoyable at all. It was very creamy, but just did not taste good. This is not a keeper.

At first I was a little leary about using creamer but amazingly it made the perfect consistancy of cream. I always wondered how the Italian restaurants get it so perfect! This was definitely restaurant quality and was a cinch to prepare!

This is scrumptious!!!!
Joanne from

I love this easy to make shrimp .... Unreal that the sauce is actually made with coffee-mate. I served this with a spinach salad and garlic toast. The best part is it takes no time at all to prepare......

What's not to love about Magic Bars!!! With or without the raspberry they bring joy! --Although the raspberry does add another layer of enjoyment. I LOVE when I make something that my husband is convinced he won't like "I don't like coconut!" BUT then he's so tempted that he tries it anyway and eats the majority of the pan!!! Excellent recipe.

Easy and (Dangerously) Delicious
Kristy Holt from
I use both chocolate and white chocolate chips, as I love the pairing of white chocolate and raspberry, and it gives the bars a nice variation of coloring. I also leave out the walnuts. -This is a go-to dessert/treat for a "girls" movie night with friends.

I have made this bar cookie twice for crowds and each time, I have been asked by many people for the recipe. I have also been told that someone who did not normally care for either coconut or chocolate could not get enough of these cookies. Great & easy! I find it easier to cut if I chill the finished cookies first. Small size recommended. They are rich.

Cheryl Meilleur from

I made this tonight and it was so yummy. I didn't have any raspberry jam without seeds so I used strawberry jam and the flavor of the jam with this recipe is what really adds the nice touch to the taste. I also used orea baking crumbs instead and it was a really nice touch of chocolate and I cut back on the chocolate chips to only 1 cup. I will be making this again for our family since we all really liked it. Thank you for the quick, tasty treat!

I made these bars over the Christmas holidays. My children loved them and so did the rest of the family. Both my kids decided that they wanted to help make the bars. They really enjoy baking. The sad thing is that we don't have much time to do it. Baking as a family is the most wonderful time for me as a MOM.
