Shredded Veg Soup and Quick Chicken Linguine

Start this easy meal off with a delicious shredded veggie soup. The main dish is ready in just 25 minutes and pairs well with the simple Salad Italiano. Finish with an easy version of the Italian classic dessert, Tiramisu.

Rate & Review

This shredded vegetable soup is creamy and full of nutritious vegetables. "Chayote" (mirliton squash) lends the comforting texture to this delicious soup. A typical ingredient of the Aztec and Mayan cuisine, this vegetable is high in potassium and low in carbohydrates. Try this one with spaghetti squash and other varieties of vegetables, too!

    Pretty darn GOOD!

GEORGINA CABRERA from Long Beach, CA

Made this for the first time last week. My boyfriend and I liked it so much that we've made it twice more since then. Mind you, I'm no chef, so I love how easy it is to make. And for a full-on entrée, it doesn't take long at all!! Try it! It's worth it!! :-)

A week later and he's still talking about it!

    Laura Allen from Charlottesville, VA

Even after a few days of leftovers, my VERY hard to please husband is still raving about this simple recipe! I made the recipe as directed and then got worried that it was a little too humdrum for his liking. I boiled a bag of frozen carrots, brocolli and cauliflower that I had in the freezer and added them to the same sauce recipe (red sauce + heavy cream). I first gave the sauce a little extra bite by stirring in 2 tbsp of garlic/red onion that I had blended up to a puree. Then I stirred this new invention in with the original recipe- put it all in a 9" x 11" lasagna dish and kept it in the oven on warm until a very pleased new husband came through the door. It was EXCELLENT! I can't wait for a few weeks to go by so that it can make a second appearance!

I have tried this recipie for my family, they liked the buitoni sauce but the chicken taste a little bland. So the next time I made this I tried adding some salt, pepper and a little paprika on the chicken when cooking for a little more spice and taste. This is so easy to make and will be making again.

Tried this with a home made marinara (off another cooking web site), and it was pretty good. Used parmesano-reggiano cheese, which has much better flavor than regular parmesan. Next time I might cook it without the chicken. Less fat and calories, and probably twice as good!

I also tried shrimp w/chicken....Delicious!!!!!!!!!!

    Laurel from Shawnee, KS

I love this recipe. I am not very good at sticking to recipes as they are printed. I used double the garlic. My girls won't eat plain marinara sauce but they love the "pink stuff." I have already made it 3 times and given it out to several friends.

I cooked this for my fiance, mom, dad, and sister. My sis said it was good and tasted kinda like ravioli, while my fiance and dad fell in love with it. Mom thought it was sort of bland. If you add spices to it to give it some zest, it will be a lot better. But, I will definitely make this again, with my minor improvements.

Cannot begin to tell you how delicious this recipe is, you simply must try it. Make it a day ahead and serve to company for a stress-free end to your meal, better the longer it sits. So rich and creamy! Oh, so good and was easy to make!

    A little Italian recipe

    Loretta Plizka from MILWAUKEE, WI

Usually when I made this dessert I used a regular cake recipe, but this time I tried this receipe and it really worked well for me. I used regular cream cheese instead of lite and was pleased with the results. It is amazing what I can do with a sugar dough.

    Easy gormet dessert

    Danny from Colorado springs

It was easy to make. Family thought it was better than the restaurant Tiramisu. I baked it at 350 for 20 min as I'm at high altitude (6500 feet). I decided to cut all 20 pieces in half top to bottom and press the pieces together to get the 1"x2.5" that was called for. If I can make it then anyone can.

These are so simple to make and look so professional. It is great to get so many compliments especially when you know that it is just the recipe and not the pastry cook. Our family love chocolate but these are a wonderful change of pace. I look forward to making them several times before Christmas this year. Thank you .

So quick and easy. It tasted wonderful and got rave revues from everyone. It looked so impressive in the glass bowl that everyone thought I had slaved. I'm not telling.

My daughter loves tiramisu. I saw this recipe and had to try it. It was so simple and better yet, it was so-o-o good. Sure saves time over making the restaurant version. Too, this tastes just as good. Not too sweet-just right.

    I Love Tiramisu!

    JAN WILKINS from Blytheville, AR

Most recipes are more involved, especially the cake part, so I was over joyed to find one with the refrigerated sugar cookies. Of course, cooking, and moreso baking is my therapy! Always have to try these recipes, then end up giving them to neighbors so we won't end up eating it all. Especially since my husband is borderline diabetic!
