Brazilian lemons look and taste more like common limes, so this lemonade recipe does not call for lemons. The touch of sweetened condensed milk gives this drink a rich, subtle creaminess while the blender creates a frothy finish. This refreshing cooler, ideal on a hot summer day or as a tasty starter, is best served immediately as it becomes bitter tasting when made ahead of time.
Ingredients:
4 fresh limes, washed thoroughly
6 cups water, divided
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1/2 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk, divided
14 ice cubes (1 tray), divided, plus more for serving
Directions:
CUT off ends of each lime and cut each into 8 wedges. Place 16 wedges, 3 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk and 7 ice cubes in blender. Cover; blend for 20 seconds. (Blending longer will cause drink to become bitter.) Strain through a fine mesh strainer into pitcher to remove rinds. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Best served immediately over ice cubes or crushed ice.

I wanted something different to drink and saw this, so I thought I would give it a try. My fiance was skeptical ("condensed milk as an ingrediant...I don't know"), but she loves this drink better than me. It is very refreshing.

Such an intriguing recipe
Susan Campbell from

I zested the limes, then peeled away most of the pith and discarded it. I added all the sweet-tart fruity pulp, and proceeded with the recipe, with delicious results. I will experiment with adding fresh pineapple (no peels LOL!) and maybe a little splash of rum. YUM

Smoked Turkey and Sun Dried Tomato: tastes great!
Dawn Littlefield from
SKOWHEGAN, ME
I rate this recipe as good. Good indeed because it is easy to prepare, flavorful, and cost contentious but it provides too many fat calories. I would have used maybe lowfat creamcheese, sour cream or even some yogurt to provide the calcium and lower the fat. In this day and age of rising health care cost and expanding waist lines I think it is important for all to be learning ways to eat right and still enjoy our food!

I didn't use the name brand pesto w/ tomatoes, but found something similar. It was still delicious- tasty and filling without being heavy. My guests really liked these, as I was able to leave off the vegtables that they don't like (like one friend doesn't like raw tomatoes, so I made her a seperate one). The variations on this are endless and so simple.

I originally planned these for a light dinner, then had drop-in visitors, so I sliced the wraps in 2-inch pieces and served them as appetizers. Everyone raved about the wonderful flavor, even my kids! I loved how easy they were to make, and I have to admit they looked wonderful on the plate, too.

I made this to take to a friend's cookout and she never asks to keep any leftover desserts but she did this time. I took what was left to my cousin's and it disappeared and there was fighting (mostly kidding-but not all) over the last piece. Now my mother is making it for church functions and it's always the first empty pie plate! It is just so light and cool on a summer night! Thanks for a real treat that doesn't require slaving over a hot stove.
