    Rave Reviews

    HEATHER STEPNIEWSKI from NASHVILLE, TN

I saw this recipe during my search for our Thanksgiving menu and felt it would be perfect. It most definitely was. My husbands family went on and on about how good this salad was. I glazed an abundance of pecans and set the extras out as snacks. The dressing is what knocked everything out of the park. The dressing was simply scrumptious. I would omit the garlic or find the tiniest clove of garlic. It makes a bold statement in this dressing. I will be making this salad again for Christmas with a different set of relatives and I look forward to every bite!

I saw this recipe, in the booklet I got in the mail recently and thought it sounded tasty. When I got home from work, the kids announced that they loved it. We all liked the combination of apples and dried cranberries, with the greens. I had two big helpings!

    This salad is great!

    Beth Schmohl from Richmond, VA

Really good (and easy!) - but definitely use less garlic in the dressing! I added slices of grilled chicken that had marinated in a cranberry barbeque sauce overnight to make this a "meal salad"

    I'm done, this is wonderful

Laurel Lynn Bailey from MORRISTOWN, NJ

I tasted this, but I used a bite less garlic because my kid's are not to fond of the taste. Adding the Turkey adds more protein, to which is so healthy for all. Give it a chance...

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons MAGGI Granulated Chicken Flavor Bouillon, divided

Instead of over 500 calories a slice, it now comes out to about 300 -- much more manageable to anyone who wants a special splurge but still concerned about calories and fat. Suprised

        Melissa Patterson from BAYTOWN, TX

I have never really liked Pecan Pie until I tried this recipe the other day. I will use this one time and time again. I will surely share it with my family. This one is so easy to make. I loved it.

        new favorite recipe

        Meghan Cass from Alexandria, OH

This is the best recipe for chocolate pecan pie I've had. It came out much more solid than previous recipes I've made and it was much easier to mix everything together rather than try to place the pecans on top one at a time.

        EXCELLENT!!!

Alexis Amsden from Oak creek, WI

It surprised me that this pie wasn't too sweet. It was just right. I'll definitely be using it again, and of course sharing it!

        Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie

        Christy Jackson from DALTON, GA

I tried this recipe but used chocolate chips instead of chunks because it's what I already had. I also layered my chocolate chips on the pie crust bottom instead of mixing them up in my pie batter. My family LOVED it!! It was like having pecan pie with a layer of chocolate all in one. Delicious!

Perfect ending to our dinner party!

        Patricia Lewis from Fullerton, CA

I made the Chocolate Chunk Pecan Pie yesterday for our party. It was a hit! Everyone thought they were getting regular pecan pie until they discovered the delicious chocolate chunks!! A very pleasant surprise. I made my own pastry and I did not feel that it needed the deep dish that the recipe called for.

        A Holiday Must

Marilyn Jess from North Bennington, VT

I don't like pecan pie but after making this several years ago for my husband's December birthday I now look forward to it. Use real butter, good vanilla extract and cover the crust with foil. Even prepared refrigerated crust works well. No leftovers!

        chocolate chunk pecan pie

        Elizabeth Whitehouse from FOLSOM, PA

This pie was worth the time and money invested. Both the chocolate and the pecans made it very lucious and a treat to look at. My husband said it was the best he had ever tasted and he should know since he is addicted to pecan pie.

        Too much chocolate

Susan Campbell from GRASS LAKE, MI

Next time, I will make this pie with only half the chocolate morsels, as it was too much for the limited amount of filling. The taste was a little bland, as well.

This pie is excellent. My husband's absolute favorite dessert is pecan pie. I make this, and it is now his favorite! I don't care for pecan pie, but this pie is wonderful-just like eating chocolate pecan candy. It was easy to make, too!

        for chocolate lovers

        Pamela Hallissey from Attleboro, MA

I made this for my mother in law's bday since she loves pecan pie. Everyone agreed the taste was good, but it tasted more like a chocolate chip cookie in a pie shell than a pecan pie. I would half the chocolate next time to get the pecan pie taste of the dessert.

        Loved by the open-minded!

Amanda Ponsot from FORT WAYNE, IN

I baked this chocolate pecan pie for Thanksgiving this year and half of the people loved it and half of the people preferred the original pecan pie. I realized that the relatives that liked it the chocolate better were the ones who loved rich desserts. The other half preferred more of the original caramel flavor and thought the chocolate with the pecans took away from the caramel flavor. When I make this dish again, I don't think I will call it pecan pie because people in my family generally have a set idea of what pecan pie is so when I add something different they don't know how to take it! All-in-all I loved it!
