Abuelita Baked Apples are filled with a creamy and delicious chocolate sauce to create an elegant dessert that is an ideal choice for entertaining special guests. Garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired.
- 6 medium green or red apples
- 3 tablets (90 g each) NESTLÉ ABUELITA Chocolate, chopped
- 1 can (7.6 fluid ounces) NESTLÉ Media Crema
- 2 cups hot water
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Aluminum foil
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Cut 6 squares of foil, measuring approximately 8-inches-square.
COMBINE Abuelita chocolate and media crema in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until melted and smooth; set aside.
REMOVE core from each apple, carefully leaving base intact. Place Abuelita sauce evenly in the holes in apples. Wrap in foil. Place in 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Pour hot water in pan to 1-inch depth.
BAKE for 65 to 70 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from water; let cool. Unwrap; garnish with whipped cream.
