Abuelita Poached Pears

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups NESTLÉ ABUELITA Chocolate Syrup
1 cup water
4 ripe pears, peeled, cored and cut lengthwise in half
1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
Sweetened whipped cream or light vanilla ice cream

 

Directions

COMBINE Abuelita syrup and water in medium saucepan; mix well. Add pear halves. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium. Cook for 30 minutes or until pears are tender.

REMOVE pears; set aside. Continue to cook sauce over medium heat for 20 minutes or until thickened and reduced. Remove from heat; add coffee liqueur.

SERVE two pear halves in each of four individual dessert plates. Top with Abuelita sauce and whipped cream or ice cream. Serve immediately.
