Thick and delicious french toast is excellent for a Sunday brunch. You'll love this made-in-the-oven variation.
- 1 package STOUFFER'S Harvest Apples, defrosted
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 pieces of bread
MELT butter in 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Add brown sugar and Harvest Apples; stir well.
WHISK eggs, milk and vanilla extract in medium bowl until well combined.
DIP bread into egg mixture; place on top of apples.
BAKE in preheated 350° F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until bread centers are firm.
*DEFROST Harvest Apples in microwave on 50% power for 6 to 7 minutes.

I made this as a dinner with smoked sausage. It was quite good but a little on the dry side, we fixed that with warm maple syrup! My daughters enjoyed it so we will definitely have it again.
