I added some crab meat to this recipe which gave it a nice flavor, but I found the final product to be a little dry. Next time I will bake it at a lower temperature, then it will be perfect!

Had high expectations -- especially after I stirred the cooked pasta into the cheese sauce. After baking is was quite bland and could have used only 1/2 of the bread crumbs. I'll keep looking for a "keeper" mac and cheese recipe...

This was fantastic!! I love homemade macaroni and cheese and this was one of the best. I don't like onions so I omitted that but added 1/2 cup more shredded cheddar cheese. It was beyond delish! I can't wait to make this for the next family gathering.

The flavor of Onion mess up taste, to much milk with cheddar cheese makes it very soupy,no onion,no white cheddar cheese,no bread crumbs,no crunch and macaroni and cheese needs no parsley.

    Wasn't impressed

Ryan McFaul from Wisconsin Dells, WI

I was excited to make this recipe for my boyfriend since the reviews I read sounded promising. I followed the instructions and it turned out to be one of the worst things I have ever tasted - very bland and just blah. My boyfriend told me, "Don't take it personally honey, but that really was not very good." after I told him I wasn't impressed and asked him what he thought.

    Best Mac 'n Cheese Ever

    Marcia Hyde from PINSON, AL

I made this for Thanksgiving just to try this and was the hit side. We don't have potatoes but love cornbread dressing. This was a change to add a great dish. Requested to have it a few days ago and again it was so good. Evaporated milk made such a creamy difference. I used regular yellow extra sharp cheese the second time. Good as could be. Best scratch Mac 'n Cheese I ever made.

I have never made homemade mac and cheese before so I was excited to try this recipe, although I have to say, this dish was more like a casserole than what I thought it would turn out like- not very cheesy, almost a tad dry. I was looking for a more tasty recipe!

Nothing says comfort more than home-made Macaroni and cheese. I use yellow sharp cheddar as I like the color it imparts to the finished product. On occasion, I will add diced ham and a bit more parsley and serve as a one-dish dinner casserole along with a green salad and fresh baked bread. DELICIOUS!

Made this as a side dish to our family's meal, and the best thing about it was the fact that I could make it the day before and just pop it in the oven while making the rest of the meal. Try adding pepper jack cheese if you want a little more zip.

Jessica Halsey from Newbury Park, CA

The evaporated milk gives it a creamy taste! My mom and I never thought to use evaporated milk before in Mac & cheese and that's probably why ours was so dry and bland. I got creative and added dill, white pepper and groung mustard. The recipe calls for paprika too and spices make it so tasty that you can use just plan bread crumbs on top. I didn't have white cheddar so I used twice as much colby jack chesse and it was teriffic. My mother said that I am in charge of the Mac & Cheese this year!! You can definitely improvise with this recipe and have it come out delicious every time.
