I love Banana Pudding and loved this recipe. However, I am not a banana fan so I did what my mother does which is puree the banana and add them to the custard during the last few minutes of cooking. Then she just does layers of custard and cookies and it is SOOOOOOOOOO Good.

I grew up watching my Mother make "pudding from scratch" and I also do this when time permits. This recipe is very good, and taste a lot like my Mother's recipe, which has never been measured, I make totally from memory. This has encouraged me to measure and give the "recipe" to my two sons and two daughters.

As a Southern girl, I grew up on Banana Pudding. My mother & grandmother made the best banana pudding ever. They have both passed and it was a delite to taste this banana pudding. Though not baked in the oven as they used to do, it tasted almost the same! I found it to be quite tasty and easy to make.

We had some bananas that needed to be used, since they were getting very ripe. But we didn't have any of the usual pudding mixes. We had everything for this recipe, so we tried it. First time I ever made pudding from scratch. It is very good! And very easy. I don't think I will ever need a pudding mix again.
