Grandma would be proud of these Beef Tips and Noodles slowly simmered in rich Taster's Choice coffee and red wine. You'll enjoy making this dish and its great flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons NESCAFÉ TASTER'S CHOICE House Blend 100% Pure Instant Coffee Granules, dissolved in 1 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 pounds beef tri-tip, cut into bite-size pieces, seasoned with salt and ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried oregano
  • Hot cooked noodles

HEAT oil in large, heavy-duty saucepan. Toss beef and flour together; add to saucepan. Cook, stirring frequently, until beef is no longer pink. Add onions and garlic; cook for 5 minutes. Add coffee, wine, water, rosemary and oregano; stir and scrape pan bottom to loosen any browned bits of meat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover.

COOK for 80 to 90 minutes or until meat is tender. Serve over noodles. Season with salt and ground black pepper.

Good, but missing something

I made this one on Monday night and found it to be very easy. However, it was missing something the taste was okay on the bland side, I'm not much of a salt user, so if anyone has any ideas on how to spice up the tase I'd love to hear it!

Can't be more easy

Simple, Quick and a Keeper

This is a great recipe.!Will probably use a sirloin steak instead next time to cut down cooking time for tenderness in the meat. I used a merlot instead of a cabernet and it really made a nice deep taste along with the french roast coffe that I use. The only thing I would suggest is doubling the sauce if you like more.

Excellent Weekday Meal

My family loved this! I did not have noodles so I made mashed potatoes instead and it went well with the salad I made. I was not impressed about putting coffee in it though, and will use beef broth instead the next time I make it. Otherwise, it is a keeper!

This was an easy dish. I added a little Adolf's meat tenderizer while meat was browning. Next time I'll add a little more seasoning salt also, but we loved this dish. My husband ate 1/2 the pot. I think I'll try mashed potatoes with it next time....
