Ingredients:

1 pkg. (16 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Mini Brownie Bites Bar Dough
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling, warmed
1 cup frozen whipping topping, thawed
2 oz. NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Bar, grated

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 350º F. Line 8-inch-square baking pan with foil; lightly grease.

PLACE whole bar in prepared pan. Allow to soften for 5 to 10 minutes. Using fingertips, pat dough gently to fill pan.

BAKE for 24 to 26 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

LIFT from pan; remove foil. Cut into 12 pieces. Arrange pieces close together on serving platter. Top with pie filling, whipped topping and grated chocolate.

I love Black Forest Cake and this is a quick and easy way to get that great taste. I have used brownies froma mix to make this too, and substitute a little Kirsch for the liquid, giving it a more authentic taste.

Tried this recipe it was okay as far as brownies go Just isn't my thing, for some reason I just don't like brownies. To me they always taste burnt, nothing wrong with recipe just my taste buds. I will however make them for my daughter-in-law she loves brownies.

The thing I like about this dessert is that you can make brownies ahead of time and freeze them. (I freeze them individually in plastic baggies.) Then, as needed, take them out of freezer, microwave, and add toppings. A very simple way to have a beautiful-looking, very tasty dessert for drop-in company, and it looks like you baked that very day! Also, no waste. Only defrost as many brownies as you need, but keep other ingredients on hand.
