Fast, easy, and delicious. I made them with semi-sweet morsels because we prefer the flavor -- the chocoholics in the neighborhood devoured the cookies. Looks like I'll need to double the recipe next time!

    Sinfully Delicious!!!

Well, I hate nuts, so I omitted them and let me say it was just fabulous!!! My husband is on his third cookie and licking his fingers as we speak! I didn't change anything else about the recipe. It was easy and bake time is quick! THANKS!

    Very rich and satisfying!

    Tracy Kitts from TAZEWELL, VA

Although I used dried cherries instead of the cherry-flavored Craisins, this cookie got rave reviews from my family! I enjoy baking cookies for friends and family, so I baked a batch of these for my retired Mother-in-law and her friends to enjoy on a trip. They were much-appreciated. My husband and I also enjoyed them very much! Next time I bake these, I will use the nuts; I had to leave them out this time because of dietary concerns for my friends.

    Great Cookies!

    Kellyapril Buchholz from DIXON, IA

This recipe is very easy and the cookies come out terrific. I have used it for several occasions and the got great reviews each time. Each time I have made the recipe I have ended up with 2 1/2 dozen cookies, just as the recipe states, - so if you need more/less I suggest altering the recipe.

    "Almost" Black Forest Cookies

    Diane Cunningham from VANDERHOOF, BC

Last December, my 2 married daughters and 2 of my grandkids, ages 5 & 6, got together to bake cookies for Christmas. We baked about 2 dozen each of 7 or 8 different recipes and then divided them equally amongst the 3 of us. One of the recipes I chose was Black Forest Cookies since dried cranberries are one of my grandkids' favorite snacks & I usually have a bag on hand. I didn't have Cherry Flavor Cranberries but the original flavor was just as delicious. The recipe was easy to follow, all simple ingredients, and very little cleanup. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone.

I love trying new cookie recipes and this one intrigued me. I've made it now 3 times! I had never tried craisins before - they're great in these cookies along with the nuts. I love the texture and the taste. Beware: they are habit-forming!

The first time I made these cookies, I could not find the cherry flavored Craisins, I used the original ones, and they were okay, but you really need the Cherry flavored Craisins. Once I found the cherry flavored Craisins, I made them again, and there was definitely a big difference. Much better! The second time I made them, I also added 1 tsp. almond extract along with the vanilla. This gave an extra boost of cherry flavoring. Along with the milk chocolate chips, I also dumped in a bag of Nestles semi sweet mini chips. Wow! What a chocolate/cherry flavor! I also added in an extra 1/2 cup of flour. I had a nice round thick cookie that was super rich and chocolatey!

These were pretty good. Kind of a cake-like cookie. For melting, I used milk chocolate morsels, but for the ones I mixed in whole, I used those new white and dark swirled morsels. Made them look great! I also used 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp. almond extract to add more of a "Black Forest" taste. I used part whole-wheat pastry flour for this recipe.

I am going through a very stressful time and I just needed some baking therapy. I had printed out this recipe several months ago and decided I would make these. I made a double batch and are they ever delicious. The smell of chocolate when you open the cookie tin is fantastic. Love the little cherry flavored cranberries and the texture is great with the chopped nuts. I am adding these to my Christmas cookies next year.
