This recipe's "hands-on" preparation is a thrill for kids and results in a sweet and chewy combination of chopped Butterfinger, crunchy popcorn and miniature marshmallows.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • 36 pieces NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER BITES Candy, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Directions:

COMBINE popcorn and chopped Butterfinger in large bowl.

MELT butter in medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in marshmallows. Heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth.

POUR over popcorn mixture; quickly toss to coat well. Coat ice cream or cookie scoop with nonstick cooking spray. Scoop popcorn mixture into 25 (1 1/2-inch) balls. Place on wax paper to cool. Wrap in decorative bags or store in airtight container.

    Fun with kids!

    Debbi Finkelstein from Waltham, MA

I wanted a popcorn reciped that I could make with the children I work with for a movie day. The kids helped me make the popcorn balls and the only thing we had to change was that we did it in the microwave, rather than on the stove top. It turned out great and the kids ate it up!

Tried to make these easy popcorn balls. Very easy, smelled realy good while making them. Stored them over night, ten hours, the popcorn was soggy. Still had that tempting aroma. Would not dare take them to the halloween party. Had to dispose of them. Sorry...

I actually made these wonderful popcorn balls for my daughter's Halloween party at school. Instead of using the Butterfinger candy bars, I used the swirled chocolate caramel morsels. They were delicious! Apparently all the kids at school thought so too!

    Trick or Treat TREAT

    GAIL BLACKMON from Buffalo, MN

I wanted something fun & good, yet different, to hand out to my favorite Trick or Treaters. This is perfect! Each ball wrapped in Halloween celephane then each ball tied with black & orange (gold & lime green also)curling ribbon. The ends of the ribbons are curled by dragging accross the blade of a pair of scissors. These snacks will be festive & fun, and a new twist and flavor of a old favorite!

    very good, very easy

Nicole Corwin from Mt. Carmel, TN

This is really an awesome recipe. It's so easy, quick, and virtually impossible to mess up. I recomend this to anyone with little time, kids, or who has a sweet tooth. the great thing is when these are done, not only do they taste great, they have great presentation. They look like you took an hour making them. I do have a suggestion, to those who do try this, try using a popcorn called Orville Rednbockers Cinnabon. It adds a really great flavor, just don't use the icing packet that comes with.

Very sticky to put together but my child had a lot of fun trying. We figured out if we let the mix sit for a little while after adding the marshmallows it got a little easier to make balls.
