BAKE for 12 minutes.

BEAT cream cheese and sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in flour and lemon juice. Pour over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.

When I made these I forgot to put the reserved crumbs on top of the creamcheese layer! They still turned out yummy though! Next time I'll be sure to remember to complete all of the steps!

This recipe is easy for the kids to make and have fun doing it too! We all loved it and was not as difficult as cheesecake but yet just as yummy!

    Easy and Tasty

CHERYL PETERSEN from ELBOW LAKE, MN

This is a quick and easy recipe to make when you need something quick and easy! The cheesecake isn't too sweet to combat with the taste of the butterscotch. The walnuts add a nice touch.

    Wonderful!

Christine Spoto from PALM HARBOR, FL

I have made these numerous times through the years; lost the recipe and now I've found it again here! They are absolutely delicious; a nice change from bars that tend to be too sweet. These are just right. Always a big hit when I bring them along to parties. Super flavor, wonderful texture, simple to make! I store them in the refigerator.

I made these for breakfast one weekend morning when it was a little cool. They were a big hit with my teenage boys, so I will most likely be making them again.

    Tasty Treats!!

Leslie Duke from Lake Jackson, TX

I went by the book here... except one small substitution: I used 2 teaspoons vanilla extract instead of lemon juice. And the bars turned out PERFECT!! My husband ate nearly the whole batch in one day... thank God he has a high metabolism!

I made this just like the recipe said to. My family didn't care for them. Then I made them and put some coconut in the cream cheese and now they are a favorite of the family.

I am not a big butterscotch fan, but..............

    Maureen Dioguardi from Chicago, IL

Wow, this bars are absolutely delicious. I hadn't made them in a while and recently brought them to a family party. They disappeared like Lance Burton was there. People were even eating the crumbs out of the pan when the bars were gone!! I do prefer them to be made in a 9 X 13 pan so they are slightly thicker, and then I cut them into diamonds for a little variety.

These are good and I may make them again, although my husband did not care for them. The butterscotch was a nice change. I did have the problem of the bottom layer falling off when I went to take the bars out of the pan. To fix this, I pressed down firmly on the top of each bar before I picked it up out of the pan.

I saw this recipe on the back of the butterscotch chips bag about a year ago. I tried it & love it & then lost the recipe. Now that I have it again I make it everytime we are having a get together as my whole family loves it.

    Deanna Zinn from Mechanicsburg, PA

These are so good.....you'll want to eat the whole pan! I can never wait for them to cool. The lemon juice adds just enough flavor to offset the butterscotch morsels.

These bars got great reviews when I took them to a potluck. Make sure you use Philly Cream Cheese and that you are able to refridgerate since the crust got crumbly.

    Delicious

    Vanessa from Melbourne, Australia

I've only made this once and it was delicious. I had to have the butterscotch buttons and graham crackers shipped from the US as we don't have them here in Australia, but it was worth it. Will make it again in the future, just need to put my order in!

I have been making these for more than 18 years and my children love them. When I first found this recipe they were called Butterscotch Crunchers.Very easy to prepare, but they don't last very long (meaning they get eaten very quickly). I have prepared them 2-3 weeks in advance and then freeze. They taste just as good.

    De-lish!

    Yzette Hansen from Boulder, Colorado

If you like butterscotch after these cream cheese treats you'll have a new favorite to add to your list. These cream cheese bars are wonderful. In fact what I like to do is make them in a pan instead of making them as cookies. It takes a lot less time to bake and you get to enjoy them that much faster and trust me you'll surely want to.
