  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

These are really good. I made a double batch with my two year olds help. She is can't have milk products so I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and used margerine instead of butter. I didn't have peanuts so I used walnuts, it still was really good.

I just made a batch of Caramel Rocky Road Bars to take to a party and they never left the house. My husband & boys had to be the tasters to make sure they were good before I took them and they ate most of them while I getting ready. Sure glad that I made 2 batches. Guess I better get to baking some more for them.

    Great Combo!

Mary Wolcott from colorado springs, CO

These were a great combination of sweet and salty. The only change I'd make is to use semisweet as opposed to milk, which is too mild for my taste. But they were still damn good!

I made Caramel Rocky Road Bars to take to our family reunion. Needless to say they went quickly - even with all the other desserts there. We loved the texture and marshmallow-y chew. And, of course, anything that contains sundae topping has a better than even chance of being terrific. And these were.

These bars are easy to make, but if you over bake them are very hard and crunky. They were okay, I thought they would be a lot better if not baked as long.
