I have been making these butterscotch brownies for the past year. The teens at our parish youth group LOVE them. I am asked to make them numerous times throughout the year. I make them without the nuts. : o )

    Sailing Team Favorite

    Kim Comer from ,

We love these butterscotch brownies! I tried this recipe 2 weeks ago and I am making them again tonight. I made them for my daughter's sailing team and they nearly went weak in the knees when they tasted these delicious, chewy brownies. I think this is a new family favorite and the official brownie of the NSA Sailing Team.

    Butterscotch Brownies

    Melissa Johnson from Woodbridge, VA

I agree with another reviewer they were good but not great. Definately not as chewy as I was expecting. I guess I thought the butterscotch chips would melt more into the brownie and they didn't. I could have done without the nuts they didn't add much flavor but rather a different texture. Perhaps next time I'll try toasting them first. I may do a combination of butterscotch chips and white chocolate that I also read in another review. Overall they were good and my family really liked them it was a nice alternative to the regular chocolate brownies.

The first time a made these was for a bake sale for my sorority. One lady was so mad because someone else bought them before her it was funny. It was close to her birthday and the other lady had bought them to give to her for her birthday cake. Have made the since then and they disappear very quickly.

    Great Brownies!!

    Sally Simonds from Bedford, Texas

I found this recipe when I was trying to recreate Max's Opera Cafe's 'Blondie Crumble'(butterscotch brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, marshmellow topping, hot fudge and whipped cream). I haven't tried the whole concoction yet but the brownie by itself is awesome!!! I thought the dough looked dry when I was finished mixing it so I put in an extra egg and baked five minutes longer. I probably didn't need to - it's a GREAT recipe!!

    Soft, chewy, & delicious

    Shwanda Sparrow from Chesapeake, VA

I only had a half of bag of butterscotch chips, so I added some white chocolate chips to the batter. They were buttery, just the right amount of sweetness & perfect.

    Butterscotch Brownies

    Betsy Hartman from Spokane, WA

I thought that they were easy to make and smelled really good coming out of the oven, but they were not what I expected. I thought they would be gooey. They were a little dry and needed some ice cream on top. I will make them again. They are more of a cookie than a brownie.

This was easy to make, didn't take long either. I have friends who can't have chocolate, and they LOVED them! My husband doesn't care much for butterscotch, and he loved them too. This is definitely a keeper, a recipe I will make over & over again. Oh, and I left out the nuts in the recipe, and it was still great!

These were easy and quick, but not over the top spectacular. So, I thought that adding nuts would put it there, no, still just "good". I would make them again, just to have something a bit different than the regular chocolate brownie.

    All things butterscotch

Mackinzie Klein from Saint Helens, OR

I came across this recipe last week when looking for Halloween party ideas. My boyfriend LOVES all things butterscotch! I always have to buy 2 bags of butterscotch chips because he will ALWAYS eat an entire bag before I can ever make anything. So I suprised him with these Saturday afternoon, and it was great because they didn't take very long at all to make! He ate almost half the batch! He told me over and over again how great they were. I told him, if he ever wanted me to make them again, he was going to have to stop eating all the butterscotch chips so I would actually be able to make them!

I highly recommend eating these warm with ice cream, it made them taste that much more yummy. I think next time I'll try adding some chocolate chips for a different taste.
