    Good basic recipe

    Kelly Rettenberger from Madison, WI

This was my first made from scratch brownie! I added some chocolate chunks in place of the nuts, so I omitted 1/3c cocoa. They were very good--pretty moist and not cake-like(a brownie pet peeve of mine)-- but I'm glad I kept a close eye one the oven, because they cooked pretty quickly--even though I used a smaller, deeper dish. I think I might play with this one a bit, because it seemed to lack something. Thanks for the recipe.

    Chewy chocolate brownies

    Marie DeAngelis from Sunrise, FL

This is a great brownie recipe. I always keep Nestle's Cocoa in the house...it makes the best hot cocoa to drink, but I wanted something to satisfy my chocolate craving that I could sink my teeth into... and I had no baking chocolate. I found this recipe on the web site, and had all the ingrediants, so I tried it and discovered a brownie that satisfied everyone's idea of a great home-made brownie.. rich chocolate, moist and chewy, and, for me, easy to bake! I like extra nuts in my brownies, but I also bake for people who cannot eat nuts, and these brownies are great without the nuts too! This one goes in my recipe book for sure.

    Amazing!

    Jennifer Adona from Roselle, NJ

I made homemade brownies for the first time using this recipe. They taste incredible. I don't think I can ever go back to using boxed mixes. They came out moist and had the perfect texture on top. I added a little extra sugar to it (could just be my sweet tooth). Definitely plan to use this recipe many many more times!

I needed something to take to church and came across this recipe. They were very easy to make, and took no time at all to prepare. Next time I need a recipe at a moments notice, I will definately make these! They didn't last long either!

    My Go-To Brownie Recipe

Susan Runnings from LAS VEGAS, NV

Since these are so popular in my home, I always double the recipe and use a very large, glass baking dish (15x11x2). Naturally, I adjust the cooking time for this larger amount/pan size. They always turn out so wonderful and JUST GOOEY ENOUGH in the middle, without falling to bits. WONDERFUL warm with vanilla ice cream on top!!

I made these for my son son and his friends who were having movie night at the house. The only change I made was to nix the nuts...optional anyway, right? Needless to say there was an empty pan at the end of the evening!

    thick batter!

Loren Roth from NEW YORK, NY

the batter for these brownies turns out way thicker than any other brownie batter i've made. so make sure you don't forget the water in the recipe! i made mine in a 9x9 inch pan and baked them for 32 or so minutes. very rich brownies! delicious. instead of nuts, i added a half-cup of semi-sweet morsels. also, i press a bunch of peanut butter pieces onto the surface AFTER they come out of the oven.

    Excellent!

    Successb440 from Woodbury, MN

The sugar to chocolate ratio is perfect! You get the perfect amount of sweetness and chocolate goodness many brownies are missing. Forget boxed brownies, these are REAL brownies and the only one I have used for YEARS! Stick with this one and let it be your secret! Use only real butter too (better for you than artificially made substitutes anyway).
