    Incredible!

Marcia Dycus from Eden Prairie, MN

I originally made this cake for Mother's Day, and my mother LOVED it! I used dark fudge cake mix, chocolate fudge pudding, and very dark chocolate chunks. Didn't bother with the glaze. Took the rest to work, and they went nuts! I have made this cake several times since, with variations of german chocolate cake and devil's food cake mixes. Great cake for a church function as well.

    FABULOUS!!!!

Kimberly Wilson from Corning, New York

This is hands-down one of the best cakes EVER! I served it with chocolate covered strawberries and vanilla ice cream- what a hit! I have also made this in mini form. I used a mini bundt pan (fill each approx 3/4 full), and bake the mini cakes for 13-15 mins. Let them cool for 10 min. and turn them out, then cool the pan completely with cool water, dry the pan and bake again. It makes 28-30 mini cakes- perfect for bake sale, parties, you name it! One note....I had to make extra glaze (1.5 the ingredients for the glaze) in order to have enough. ENJOY!

    Very Moist

LYNN COYLE from MOUNT BETHEL, PA

The cake was very popular at bingo and with hubby. I did twist the glaze as when I made it following the directions it was a tad runny so I added 2 heaping spoons of powdered cocoa and that fixed the runniness and although no one knew what the glaze was supposed to taste like they all noted that the now icing was like candy, delicious.

    Hits the spot!

    Rebecca Byers from Butler, PA

This cake turned out very well even though I didn't have all the correct ingredients. Since I didn't have chocolate pudding, I used vanilla instead. I also didn't have chocolate morsels, so I used a combination of chocolate mini morsels and chocolate chunks. I didn't glaze the cake because I thought it was rich enough without it. Next time, I will use the correct ingredients, but even without them, this cake is still a winner!

    Amazingly moist!

    MC BRENTNALL from Sarnia, ON

This is absolutely a wonderful and moist cake - however I glazed the whole cake including sides so it would not dry out. And I served it with whipped cream. Excellent!

Sarah Landman from New York, NY

This cake is amazing and has gotten so popular with my friends that they don't let me make anything else at special occasions. I make it in a bundt pan, and before pouring the glaze, I put strawberries in the center hole. Then I pour the glaze over the entire thing. It's great!

I made this cake for a family gathering on the Sunday after the 4th of July. I could have made two. This cake is awesome and was the most sought-after dessert at the party. It is moist and delicious and very chocolatey. The men enjoyed it as much as the ladies, and the kids just devoured it. This is definitely a do-again (very soon).

    Chocolate Heaven!

Joni Ellsworth from RED OAK, TX

This cake has quickly become a family favorite. It is very chocolatey, not for the faint of heart. True chocolate lovers only.. It is a very moist cake, and the nuts and chocolate pieces are reminiscent of a brownie. The glaze is delicious (we use it to make chocolate covered strawberries as well!) and very easy to make, and drizzle onto the cake. The only change I made to the recipe, was that I microwave melted the chocolate squares and butter for the glaze.

This cake has to be one the moistest cakes yet. I usually find that my cake is better after resting. We had to have a peice of this right out of the oven. The aroma had filled the house and our mouths were watering by the time it was done. Oh heaven...was this great. Thanks again.

Not happy with the recipe... cake overflowed the pan while baking. Chocolate chips all sunk to the bottom & it just wasn't a good tasting cake. I've been a cake baker/decorator for over 20 years & I certainly won't be keeping this one.

    Great cake!

Erin Costa from East Falmouth, MA

I made this cake last year after seeing it on the back of a box and have been searching for it ever since! I finally found it on this website, I didn't do the nuts or powdered sugar, but added chocolate dipped strawberries around the bottom and in the hole in the center. This is by far the best cake I've ever made.

    WOW Cake

This is a great and versatile recipe!

    Jered Bonbrake from Alton, IL

I love this cake recipe... you know, it is like one of those alternate recipes found on the side panels of a good cake mix that later, when everybody raves, you realize you threw the box (and recipe) away! I just made this cake, adding a tablespoon of almond extract to the cake mix and spooning the cherries out of a can of cherry pie filling on top of the chocolate glaze. A few curls of dark chocolate for accent, and it looks like it came from some expensive bakery... and tastes incredible!
