Ingredients:

4 packets (1 oz. each) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® CHOCO BAKE® Pre-Melted Unsweetened Chocolate Flavor
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
4 to 6 tablespoons milk, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

MICROWAVE Choco Bake and butter in uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at additional 5- to 10-second intervals, stirring just until butter is melted.

TRANSFER mixture to small mixer bowl; cool to room temperature.

BEAT sugar, 4 tablespoons milk, vanilla extract and salt into chocolate mixture just until spreading consistency. Up to 2 tablespoons milk can be added for a creamier frosting.

FOR THE SAUCEPAN METHOD:
MELT Choco Bake and butter in small, heavy saucepan over lowest possible heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Transfer to small mixer bowl; cool to room temperature. Proceed as above.

Recipe makes 2 cups total.

This yummy frosting is really easy to make. Tastes great on homemade cinnamon rolls. Some may not think chocolate buttercream frosting on cinnamon rolls would taste good, but give it a try. I used to like dipping my cinnamon rolls in hot cocoa as a kid, so I already knew chocolate and cinnamon were a great combination of flavors.

I had no bars available when I made the frosting. I ended up using Chocolate Bars, I used a little less sugar than it called for. It came out great! Also I added in Peanut Butter in the second batch I made for the second cake. (I ended up spiliting the two cake batters and the frosting.) So I had one with Chocolate Buttercream and the other Chocolate Peanut Buttercream.

The first time I made this frosting it didn't turn out as thick as I expected (still good though). The second time around I decided to substitute the regular milk with sweetened condensed milk and that worked out perfect. The frosting was much thicker which made it easier to spread on the cake.

This recipe was too easy! Honestly, this was the best tasting home made butter cream I have tasted. It was easy to make, easy to frost with and easy to pipe with. I did however make it with semi-sweet chocolate which made it quite sweet. I will try with the unsweetened next time.

I was halfway through this recipe when I noticed the butter in the ingredient list is never mentioned again. So I may have added it at the wrong time or in the wrong consistency. The frosting never seemed to firm up. If this recipe gets corrected I'll try again, otherwise I'm still looking for a chocolate buttercream recipe.
