This delectable Chocolate Cocoa Frosting comes together in a snap. Makes enough to frost two 9-inch layers or one 13 x 9-inch cake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (4 envelopes) Rich Milk Chocolate Flavor NESTLÉ Hot Cocoa Mix
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound powdered sugar

COMBINE cocoa mix and water in large mixer bowl. Beat in butter and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add more hot water if frosting is too thick.

I wished that this recipe had more of a consistency, mine came out very running even after adding more powdered sugar. :(

okay I dint have the vanilla or the powdered sugar and i used swiss miss lol i really had none of that but it still worked .. a little runny tho.

I made a cake mix but the frosting I had was out of date and I had to come up with something easy and quick with ingredients I already had in the house....I didn't have cocoa but looked up hot chocolate! I was surprised to find this recipe and will use it from now on!

Easy

good and easy not as much chocolate flavor as I like, but still real good. I added powdered sugar until it reached desired thickness.

Easy and Good Frosting

This was quick and easy especially since I had all the items I needed in my pantry already. The only thing was it was a tad too sweet, I think because of the one pound of confection sugar, I will make this again, but I think I will cut the sugar down to one half of a pound. Thank you for a good and easy recipe!
