PREHEATovent 350º F.

FOR COOKIES:
COMBINE
Taster's Choice and hot water in small bowl; stir until coffee is dissolved. Combine butter and powdered sugar in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often for 2 to 3 minutes or until creamy. Add coffee mixture to butter mixture; continue beating for 1 minute or until well mixed. Reduce speed to low: add flour and salt. Beat for 2 to 3 minutes or until well mixed. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten to 2-inch round with bottom of greased and floured glass.

BAKE for 11 to 13 minutes or until set. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

FOR DRIZZLE:
MELT
morsels and vegetable shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat until smooth (2 to 3 minutes). Drizzle over cooled cookies.

Chocolate Java Dreams

I spread the dough out in a foil lined jelly-roll pan. It just filled the pan nicely. Then baked it for 20 minutes in the 350 degree oven. As soon an I took the pan from the oven, I sprinkled the chips over the cookies. In about 5 minutes, they softened so I could spread them over the top. Then while still warm, I cut the cookies in squares. All done, no rolling into balls, and no melting the chips and drizzeling. Hurry-up, but still good. Thanks for the recipe.

The best ever !!

I've tried several recipes for cookies like these and they have been ok. This recipe is really great. I was afraid to try this recipe because of the other ones. Sure glad I did. They was so easy to make. I did put more frosting on mine. The family thought they was great. This recipe is a keeper.
