Ingredients:

3 cups sifted powdered sugar, divided
2/3 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Baking Cocoa
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
5 to 6 tablespoons milk, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

BEAT 1 cup powdered sugar, cocoa, butter, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla extract in small mixer bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in remaining sugar and milk until smooth. Makes 2 cups total.

I make chocolate frosting on a regular basis so I decided to try this one. The end result was smooth, creamy and delicious with a little adjustment. You may want to melt half of the butter and keep adding milk (a tablespoon at a time) until your frosting ecomes creamy. It is important to remember to keep adding milk. For beginning bakers you may want to alternate sugar and milk and always end with the milk.This will make for a shinier frosting.

We like it with one little change in directions. I melt some of the butter or margarine and mix it with the cocoa first. Then I follow the rest of the directions. That's how my family likes it.

I followed the directions for this recipe very carefully since it was my first time making frosting. It said to beat the first ingredients until "creamy" but mine was more crumbly. I'm not really sure what happened. I'll be trying this recipe again in the future and I really hope I have better results.

I substituted the milk with heavy whipping cream. It was wonderful! This is the simplest frosting I've tried to make. It really is quick and easy. It is smooth and very rich!! I would probably not use it on a chocolate cake because of that, but it worked fabulously with my yellow cake mix. This will DEFINITELY become my "go-to" recipe from now on. Loads better than any store-bought product!

I made this frosting and iced brownies with it. My son absolutely loved it and kept wanting me to make more. I finally made the brownies, but when I started to make the frosting ... I didn't have enough cocoa powder left! I grabbed a tub of store bought frosting from the cubbard, but he saw it and would not hear of it. He saved the brownies until I picked up more cocoa and made his "favorite" frosting!

Recipe is great! If you are stretched on your cocoa, it is good with just 4 Tablespoons of cocoa as long as you are putting it on a chocolate cake.
