These are awesome! I tried them once for a Christmas baking contest and I won because of them. They are perfect for freezing and sharing, but I would suggest quadrupling the recipe otherwise you won't have enough to last a while or to trade with.

What a wonderful way to get rid of those extra candy canes, or use up those that get broken. This is a good recipe for Valentines Day, too -- or anytime! Quick, easy to do for a hostess gift as well--will use this often.

Who doesn't like chocolate and peppermint together? I was a little skeptical about using the white chocolate but the results turned out delicious. And, what could be easier than microwaving? This was super simple and very tasty. I would make this year round . . . it is that good. A definite keeper. My best friend had one and immediately asked for the recipe!

This candy is the BEST. Until I saw this recipe, I had only eaten the white chocolate with crushed peppermints. There's nothing better than peppermint and chocolate. And I may try adding peppermint extract for future batches. This is the kind of candy I love to tuck in with cookies at holiday time for family and friends. And this is a wonderful gift to take to people who are homebound when you visit them.

These were very easy to make. Great recipe for young kids to try out! Unfortunately they did not go over as well as we had hoped, but we had fun making them together. My son was not fond of the white chocolate so we made a second batch of regular chocolate dipped in white chocolate, and one that was just plain chocolate with peppermint.

    A gift for the Mother-in-Law

    Anne Peterson from California, MD

I have a mother-in-law in Mo and she loves the following peppermint and chocolate. She asked me if I would make her something with those two ingredients for this Christmas as we always exchange homemade presents v store bought. I made these for her and sent them to her for her early present needless to say that she ate them and asked me when I was sending more. That made my day as she is one of the finest bakers that I know in her own right.

Everyone knows chocolate and peppermint are a great combination, but this recipe is just too simple. My kids loved helping unwrap and break the peppermint candies. Besides a great after meal treat, this would make a wonderful holiday gift for a hostess or in a cute package at each setting for your guests. I love recipes that you can make quickly and ahead of an event. And this one just moved onto the top of my list.
