    I missed it

    Donna Hillman from Melstone, MT

I made this coffee cake after reading all the rave reviews. I followed the recipe, but found the cake dry, though better the next day. I like chocolate but found it overpowering. Maybe Kahlua would be a better sub for the coffee?

Something I don't usually use is a pkg. of cake mix, but had a holiday recipe for cookies that used a cake mix. Time ran out and the cake mix wasn't used and I didn't want to waste it and this recipe popped up. Perfect for what I had on hand and an easy and delicious recipe.

    Quick and Tasty!

    Elisha Shackelford from LUBBOCK, TX

I made this cake at 9:30 one night for work. I used pecans instead of almonds. (We live in the South!) I also added some toffee pieces. It is really good! It is really easy to put together and baked quickly. *Just a note, when mixing the batter with the coffee water, it will be thick.*

Linda Randles from NORTH CANTON, OH

There wasn't a lady at the party that didn't take the recipe home with them for this coffee cake. My husband was disappointed with the little piece that was left for him. I'll be making another in the next few days just for us. This is a great recipe and a keeper that's for sure.

This is exactly what we needed at work! Our team works every weekend 10 and 12 hour shifts making it hard to bake something special every week. This quick, simple recipe was a huge hit yesterday. They think I'm superwoman since I made it Saturday night after working 11 hours and brought it in Sunday morning. I highly recommend it. Chocolate also improves the mood which was a much needed side effect!!!! Gotta try this one!

Great taste and easy to do if you have all the prepackaged items in the house. I had to go to the store purchase cake mix and coffee granuals. I bake from scratch and this type of recipie means more shoping and a more expensive coffee cake than using ingredients I have at home. It was good and my family enjoyed it.
