These were easy and fun to make.I ran out of pecans when I was making these so I used walnuts. They came out just as nice as the pecan ones. When I put these muffins out they dissapeared!

I thought the recipie was "involved" for just muffins. They turned out mostly dry & crumbly, not traditional "muffin texture". Next time I will try solid butter in the topping, not melted, for a more crumbly result. Taste was just ok, need to be moister.

I made these muffins this weekend for my family and friends that were visiting for the holiday's. I was so very disapointed with these muffins. They were very dry and actually took quite a while to make. Out of the 24 that I made only 6 were eaten I throw the rest of them away no one wanted them. :(

WE MADE THESE FOR THANKSGIVING BREAKFAST, BUT SUBSTITUTED MASHED BANANAS FOR THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS. THEY TURNED OUT REAL GOOD. NEXT TIME. I'LL SUBSTITUTE 1 TEASPOON OF CREAM OF TARTAR FOR 1 OF THE TEASPOONS OF BAKING SODA.

    Too Dense

Nancy Shields from CEDAR PARK, TX

This was the thickest muffin batter I have ever encountered. I think the recipe is missing salt as an ingredient. My kids liked them although they were dense and crumbly at the same time. My husband and I will let the kids eat these.

    Too Pretty To Eat

    Angela Pitt from ORLANDO, FL

The title says it all. When I finished making the muffins, I wouldn't let anyone touch them for a while. I was admiring my handy work. I wanted to take a picture, my camera was out of film. (This is true.) I didn't trust anyone to guard them while I went to get said film, and no one wanted to get it for me in case they missed out. So, in the end, we have but a memory of how delicious these muffins really were. I'll have film when I make them the next time. By the way, everyone loved them. Thanks for another hit, VBB!

These were tasty but I don't think they're so great for a breakfast, they're way too rich! I used the swirled morsels for the chips that don't get melted and they got totally lost in the muffins! But otherwise pretty good!

A Perfect Start to the morning

    Susan Egelseer from AMERICUS, GA

I made these muffins this morning for my B&B guests. I substituted semi-sweet chips for the milk chocolate as I prefer semi-sweet, and I used half whole wheat flour in place of regular. Also, I melted the chips with the butter and milk in the microwave on half power, checking every 15 seconds, rather than melt over hot water. The chocolate flavor was intense, blending perfectly with the sweet crunch of the streusel topping. Anyone who really loves chocolate will love these muffins. My guests most certainly did!

    chocolate streusel pecan muffins

galemarie kuchtyak from Sun City West, AZ

Not as difficult a recipe as stated. The muffins came out nice and very moist, with a consistency close to that of a brownie(added a little more chips than needed) no chance for them to cool. Everyone just grabbed one. They were great with a nice strong cup of coffee, it enhanced the deep chocolate flavor, which made it unnecessary for any sweetener in the coffee. I'm liking them so much that I may double or triple the recipe. Kudos to the baker!! They freeze very well too. Cleaning up was no chore and these will be made again and again.Thank you
