Chocolate Streusel Pecan Muffins
These Chocolate Streusel Pecan Muffins have a wonderful flavor combination with the chocolate and pecans and are quite easy to make. Enjoy with a cup of fresh-brewed coffee for breakfast or snack anytime.
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 3/4 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels, divided
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

COMBINE flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter in small bowl with fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans.
PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Grease or paper-line 12 muffin cups.
COMBINE 1 cup morsels, milk and butter over hot (not boiling) water. Stir until morsels are melted and mixture is smooth.
COMBINE flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, pecans and remaining morsels in large bowl.
COMBINE egg, vanilla extract and melted morsel mixture in small bowl; stir into flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon into prepared muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. Sprinkle with Topping.
BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.

chocolate streusel pecan muffins
These were easy and fun to make.I ran out of pecans when I was making these so I used walnuts. They came out just as nice as the pecan ones. When I put these muffins out they dissapeared!
I like to add
When I make Muffin . I like to ADD evaporated milk and almon flavor .and Chocolate Morsele gives the Muffins a good baking smell .
Chocolate streusel muffins
I thought the recipie was "involved" for just muffins. They turned out mostly dry & crumbly, not traditional "muffin texture". Next time I will try solid butter in the topping, not melted, for a more crumbly result. Taste was just ok, need to be moister.
Chocolate Streusel Muffins
I made these muffins this weekend for my family and friends that were visiting for the holiday's. I was so very disapointed with these muffins. They were very dry and actually took quite a while to make. Out of the 24 that I made only 6 were eaten I throw the rest of them away no one wanted them. :(
WE MADE THESE FOR THANKSGIVING BREAKFAST, BUT SUBSTITUTED MASHED BANANAS FOR THE CHOCOLATE CHIPS. THEY TURNED OUT REAL GOOD. NEXT TIME. I'LL SUBSTITUTE 1 TEASPOON OF CREAM OF TARTAR FOR 1 OF THE TEASPOONS OF BAKING SODA.
