    sweet

I thought the recipe was overall very good but i think i would cut down on the amount of chocolate chips used. They were a bit too sweet for my taste.

    Will be better next time

    Jill Short from Candor, NY

In my usual way of modifying recipes for the likes and dislikes of my family, I made this recipe without walnuts and used mini chips. The flavor of the bar was good, the shortbread crust was good; but next time I will use walnuts and regular sized chips. It seems these two things give the cookie the chunky look and texture that one would expect from the picture.

I like to almost grind the walnuts to make a slightly chewier texture. Some orange zest added at the final mixing enhances the chocolate tastes, too.
