    Very tasty and great texture.

    Angela Niebruegge from St. Louis

As a person who's not fond of pecan pie, I didn't anticipate liking these (made them for family), but I loved them. Maybe it's the chocolate or the way it gets nice and crunchy on the edges, but they tasted fantastic and the texture was terrific. The edge ones were nice and chewy and the center ones were a little softer, more like traditional pecan pie. The addition of chocolate chunks made it a nice variation from just all corn syrup. They were also very, very easy to make.

These are one of the best cookies I have ever eaten. I don't like pecan pie or pecans but I absolutely LOVE these cookies. Whenever I bake cookies to bring somewhere, I always make these. They are in my top 5. Thank you so much for the recipe.

    Gooey Goodness

    Mardi Lopez from HENDERSONVILLE, NC

As always i'm in charge of desserts for Thanksgiving. This year I wanted to try Pecan Pie and I stumbled across this recipe. I made it today as a "test". My husband and I each had one, I took several to the neighbors and hub will take the rest to work tomorrow. OH MY GOSH HOW OOEY GOOEY YUMMY!!!!! I didn't change a thing..oh and I used a glass dish and 'greased' it by using the residue from the melted butter - mine didn't stick to the dish.

    Could be excellent

Nancy Long from SAINT PETERSBURG, FL

I made these yesterday as Pecan Pie is my husbands favorite. They were very good, but I believe had too much chocolate. It overshadows the overall taste. I will make again, but will keep the chocolate at 1 1/4-1 1/2 cups and might increase the pecans slightly. Also would be good using Steen's cane syrup in place of corn syrup. ALso, might try adding a splash of bourbon.

oh my gosh these are great

    Margaret Winters from

I had this recipe a couple years ago then I lost it. I used to make these for all the bake sales and the other people would buy all of them before the sale started. finally I just started to take orders for them. My husband and I are in the local Lions club and the other wives always want me to bring these for the yearly picnic. I was very happy to find the recipe again. These are so easy and soooooo good.

I made these because everyone wanted Pecan Pie and I didn't have time to make a crust. Store bought crust is out of the question in my house so I tried these bars. Well, my husband and kids ate them before they cooled. I did get to taste a piece of the baby's bar.

    Great recipe

    SANDY GULLE from SHARPSBURG, GA

This recipe was very easy to make and tasty. The crust could have a little more flavor, maybe some cinnamon or a little more sugar or some chopped pecans would be good. Overall, very good recipe.

    Always a Hit!

    Joyce Senter from Columbus, OH

This recipe is easy and everyone always loves it and asks for the recipe from me. They are very rich but I would never change anything in the recipe. They are great for casual or fancy events and I would say they are a bigger hit with adults than children due to the pecans in them!

    Easy and yummy

    Barbara Moore from KENT, WA

Being born and raised in Texas, pecans were always around in my home. When I moved to Tucson, AZ, I found out they had one of the largest pecan groves in the West. I found this recipe and love everything about it. My family is always asking me to make it again, but I am trying to watch our waistlines! Now I live in the Pacific Northwest and I find that it is easy to bake where it is always cool. I sometimes add caramel or chocolate or a "special" touch. Try it with your own special touch added. You will love it too.

These bars are heavenly. I made it for my church function and before I knew it they were all gone. I made them with a selection of nuts and they were so good. I would have to make them again because I have some orders for them from the other church members who did not get any and I will. This recipe is excellent and simple.

I love Pecan Pie. However, I have not made one in about 3 years, because the end result would usually be runny! One day I was looking through a magazine and saw the recipe for Chunky Pecan Pie Bars. I made them and they were outstanding and not runny! This will be my subsitute for Pecan Pie from now on!

    Heather S from BURBANK, CA

This was a pretty good recipe; I was surprised at how chocolatey it was, though. I think next time, I'll put less morsels. It also could have used salt. I'm not an expert baker, so I'm not sure how much salt would be needed.
