This creamy, smooth Cinnamon-Vanilla Sauce with Fresh Fruit recipe is perfect to serve anytime. Try it as a starter, or use as a dessert, too.
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 6 cups assorted fresh fruit (apples, bananas, grapes, mangoes, papayas, peaches, and/or strawberries)
- Ground cinnamon, (optional)
COMBINE sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon sticks in medium saucepan. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes just to a boil and slightly thickens. Remove from heat and remove cinnamon sticks; stir in vanilla extract. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until well chilled. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
ARRANGE fruit in dessert dishes. Top with sauce. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
TIP: Refrigerate leftover sauce in covered container for up to 3 to 4 days.

Cinnamon-Vanilla Sauce with fresh fruit
Made this last night liked it but to much cinnamon. Next time just a sprinkle of cinnamon would be better.
this was pretty good i just love the fruit and the cinnamon stick was just right for this one. I just love fruit especially with vanilla sauce
SO EASY , DELICIOUS & HEALTHY
THIS WAS SO GOOD. A GREAT WAY HAVE KIDS EAT FRUIT AND EVEN ASK FOR MORE!
Lighten it up
I used nonfat carnation canned milk and Splenda insted of sugar. This turned out great. Tastes good on this season's fresh fruit.
So Easy & Delicious!
This recipe is very simple and takes no time at all to make. I served this delicious sauce with strawberries and chocolate syrup. It tasted wonderful!! Also, when I stored the sauce, I placed a piece of plastic wrap right over the sauce to avoid a film on top.
THIS IS SO EASY TO MAKE AND GREAT TASTE!
easy to make and taste good

This is a great recipe. I think it is a great take along for any party.
Simply sweet and delicious!
I cut back on the corn starch ( 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon ). It came out just right to serve over a peach crumb cake that I had just baked. It tasted yummy!
I really enjoyed the fruit with cinnamon-vanilla sauce. It was really good.
Cinnamon-Vanilla Sauce With Fresh Fruit
This is also tasty on apple dumplings.
Cinnamon-Vanilla Sauce with Fresh Fruit
My family didn't care for this one. The thickness of the sauce and the heaviness of the cinnamon took away from the flavor of the fresh fruit, rather than add to it. I would suggest using less corn starch and perhaps a little nutmeg with the cinnamon.
Cinnamon Vanilla Sauce w/fresh fruit
I just made this today waiting for my friends to come in for coffee. Every one liked it, but thought the sauce was a little thick. I will make this again but I won't put as much corn startch in it...I also sprinkled it with cinnamon instead of using cinnamon sticks
try it warm
I read a few rating comments prior to making this sauce, so I prepared to make adjustments for thickness and richness. I made 2 versions- an original recipe, and one with less cornstarch and fat free evaporated milk.
In agreement with other tasters, the original was a bit much for fresh fruit, but it was Great served warm with warm spiced peaches and pears. We topped it off with nutmeg rather than cinnamon.
The lighter version was much better on fresh sliced fruit, but I think with strawberries and grapes, we would have preferred to omit the cinnamon sticks
This was good but to thick. Try less cornstarch.
Cinnamon-Vanilla Sauce with Fresh Fruit
I thought this was very good! It had a great taste and was easy to make.
Cinnamon Vanilla Sauce with Fresh Fruit
We eat a lot of fruit salad and this was a hit with everyone in our household.
Better on another dessert..
This was good, but I thought it was too thick and rich for fresh fruit. While I ate it, I thought it would be much, much better as a sauce for bread puddings, apple cakes, or add a touch of brandy and use it over baked apples.
vanilla cinnamon cream with fresh fruit
This is a great for a light
treat after dinner or tea party
I had alot of fun doing this one. I love fruit and I thought this one was a great dessert! I didn't bother with the cinnamon sticks though.
