These treats were okay but since you slice and bake these cookies the chips on the cookie sheet side get overly done.

Better once they have cooled completely

    Elisabeth Minthorn from Collegeville, PA

I made these and tried them right out of the oven and was not that impressed (I actually threw the recipe away because I thought I would not make them again). They were much better the next morning when completely cooled....I brought them to work along with a few other types of cookies and these were the first to go! I am now re-printing the recipe for my collection.

    So Easy, Quick, and Delicious

    Lisa Myrick from Wilmington, NC

I made these for my husband's weekly mens' bible study. They were light and flaky, with a good balance between the chocolate and cream cheese. I used semi-sweet mini-morsels and sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar when they were completely cool. Because some reviewers didn't think they were sweet enough, I did add a little more sugar to the cream cheese filling. The guys absolutely LOVED them and scarfed them down like there was no tomorrow. Will definitely be added to my "go to" recipe collection!

Easy and delicious. I didn't have any milk chocolate chips on hand, so I used semi-sweet ones, but I think this would be a matter of preference.

I made one batch with mini chips and the second with 1/2 peanut butter- 1/2 mini chips. The chocolate-peanut butter were my favorites. My oldest daughter compared them to dessert pizza at our favorite restaurant. I'm making them again for our "girls night" camp in this weekend.

I read all the reviews before I started and used mini chips instead. These were perfect, not to sweet either because the mini chips are semi-sweet. I will use a little less chips next time because I feel it will be a better combination of the flavors. Yum!

Drizzle With Icing For An Over The Top Cookie

Susan Campbell from GRASS LAKE, MI

You could also keep a roll, well-wrapped, in the freezer for up to a week. Thaw just a couple of minutes, then slice and bake as directed. I used mini-chips, then drizzled the tops with plain vanilla icing, having cut back by half on the sugar inside the cookies. As the icing set, it sweetened the cookies, which my family LOVED.

    yum-oh!!!

    colleen toth from HUNTSVILLE, AL

I made these for a brunch I held for my co-workers. They were the "favorite" of my new recipes. Having read some of the other reviews I played with the recipe. I added a tsp. of good vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture and increased the sugar by a tsp and I sprinkled them lightly with cinnamon sugar before baking (just a light sprinkle). They came out so good. chip size didn't really matter I used both sizes because I was making a double batch .So both mini and regular size chips worked well. This is a definite keeper recipe It's easy to make, makes an elegant presentation and taste so good.

Cream Cheese chocolate chip pastry cookies

    Joan Ogg from Stow, MA

Easy and delicious but I would definitely use mini morsels next time. I agree with they do not present as well as they taste. Also, try using Splenda instead of sugar to cut some of the sweetness. My overall rating would have been Excellent if not for the presentation.

  • Star(s)

    Recipe has potential

    SUZANNE MOREHEAD from GILBERT, AZ

I thought the overall idea of these cookies was terrific, however, I wasn't bowled over by the end result. I even added vanilla and cinnamon to the cream cheese and a sprinkling of cinnamon/sugar on top before baking. I would definitely use mini chocolate chips next time, and would vary with some other flavors. Thanks for the idea of how to use the pastry dough.

    Easy, but appearance scores low

    Karen Matesic from Webster, NY

The puff pastry was very easy to handle, recipe very easy to follow. I would substitute mini chips next time. The regular size chips just don't make the cookies appear as elegant as they taste. A simple 10X sugar/water glaze zigzagged on top would probably improve their appearance

    Ann Emery from Prescott, AZ

I tried these this morning and was very impressed. Very light. I think I will use a few less chocolate chips next time and perhaps mini chips instead. Seal the edges really well as the first batch opened up....They still tasted great....and my husband ate the inperfect ones.....Hope the grandkids like them as well.
