Only Flan I Like

 Star(s)

Tabatha Moscone from Miami

This is the only flan recipe that I find truly delicious. The cream cheese makes it more like rich cheese cake. I find flan to be too custard-like; this is the only flan I eat (EVER). Yummy!

    Fantabulous!

    Kim from NY

Adding a bar of cream cheese really does the trick! For me, flan was always "okay." And my kids were never a big fan of flan either. But I came across this recipe and thought it was worth a try. Boy - Am I ever glad I did! This one is a definite keeper!!! (And I added a bit more sugar for the melting/carmelizing process - My family has a sweet tooth!)

Omigosh...what a great b'day treat!!! Wanted to do something special for my day that was a little different for my cake. It was a great treat. Haven't made a flan before but will definitely pass this on to my daughters and my son.

    A rich dessert

Linda Thille from NEVADA CITY, CA

I made and served this recipe to guests as a dessert for a Mexican dinner. All loved it. We thought it similar to a cheesecake filling, but the carmelized sugar set it off beautifully. Having never made a flan before, I found this quite simple to prepare.

Ja Fleet from Lake SAN MARCOS, CA

My Family Loves Flan (most of the time). So, I seem to make Flan a lot. However, this Flan is one of the easiest, and TRUELY the Best I have ever made. This is really more than a 5 Star rating. I have made many Flan, that took a whole lot more work. But, this Flan is So Much More DELICIOUS! And beyond ESAY. Thank You so very much. I do not think I will ever need another Flan recipe.

THERESA CALDERON from Moreno Valley, CA

It is a wonderful recipe and delicious! A lot more flavor than a regular flan. Moist, creamy...a cheesecake without the crust. I have a lot of requests to bring this flan to parties. Definitely recommend this recipe, especially to people who don't like regular flan.

I loved this! It wasnt hard to make at all. This is the first time I have ever made a Flan, and it was perfect. Thanks for the recipe. By the way, the recipe states it is challenging, not at all!!

    Cream cheese flan

Joanne Marku from Palm Harbor, FL

Outstanding flavor and texture. The one thing I would do different, would be cream the sugar and cream cheese with a small amount of condensed milk before adding all the other ingredients. That would reduce cream cheese lumps. Thanks,

    Best Of The Best..!

I make it at least once a week. I use only half of the cream cheese and 4 eggs instead. I have show many friends how to do it... Easy to make, very creamy and delicious...

Good taste - easy to make

    REX TRENT from FLOURTOWN, PA

Very easy to make and I like the idea that you can make it the night before. I found that 3 to 4 minutes was not nearly enough time for the sugar to melt and it had a slightly smokey flavor. The next time (and there will be a next time) I might opt for a honey/cinnamon or caramel sauce.

  • Star(s)

    very yummy

    JUNNY SANTIAGO from BRONX, NY

This flan is very good. It is rich and creamy. The only thing i did differently was that i melted the sugar with about a teaspoon of pineapple juice, it makes the caramel a little thick and it gives a bit of a bitter sweet flavor. Every body loved it at a dinner party i had.

    Excellent Flan

    Adrienne from Daly City, CA

I've always been a big fan of flan. This one beats them all. I made it for a dinner get together I had last week, and my boyfriend loved it so much he ate pretty much half of it by himself! And I got compliments on it all week long. The only thing I recommend is to make sure that you put it in the oven long enough for the center to cook. I think it tastes better hard than soft.

This was so much fun to make and so good too. I seperated it into 2 smaller pans instead of one so I could share. It was so rich and tasty. If you let it sit for two days the taste is even better because it seems to marinate itself.

I've always liked a little dessert but when you eat Mexican food, the flan beats them all. Now I can have flan anytime I want at home. This easy dessert is delicious and taste like you spent hours in the kitchen preparing it. The kids loved it and want me to fix it all the time.

I love anything with cream cheese in it, and this dish is no exception. The addition of cream cheese to a flan recipe, adds more depth of taste and extra smoothness. I use a Mexican brand of caramel as it is so perfect and reminds me of the years I lived in Mexico.

Over the years I have tried many diserts one of witch is flan.I have eaten many flan recipies but none of witch is as good as this. My advice to you is to have a nice quiet family dinner with the flan for disert, the family will love it. The flan in this recipie melts in your mouth and tasts extra good if it is washed down with a nice glass of wine.
