    Nice Aroma, Filling Sweetness

    Lisa Cleath from PASADENA, CA

Rice pudding isn't my favorite, but I did enjoy the aroma of the spices in this one, and the nutty flavor of brown rice. It was too filling to eat much of, but I shall remember the idea of naturally sweet flavoring with unsweetened apple juice and cinnamon.

I can't wait to make this for my husband as he is a HUGE fan of rice pudding. I like the idea of using brown rice as we don't use white rice in our household any more. My husband does not like raisins so I think I will substitue walnuts or pecans.

Better than white rice pudding and great on a cold raining day. Cook the rice longer and in more water than normal so that it is tender. I used regular rather than "fat free" milk, doubled the raisins, and used apple cidar instead of juice. Nutty with hint of apple and spices....Yum!

I was so excited to make this recipe because every recipe I've gotten from this site has been wonderful and my husband has been trying to get me to make rice pudding forever. Well, I made it, and it was sooooo bland. There was no sweetness to it. Maybe if you added 1/2 a cup of brown sugar, but I wouldn't make this recipe again.
