- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 5 1/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
BEAT butter and powdered sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add evaporated milk and vanilla extract; mix until smooth. Makes 3 cups.

Family Favorite Recipe For Generations
My grandmother and mother always made this frosting, as I have. Now I've passed the recipe on to my kids and grandkids. I usually use just one box of sugar, which is 4 cups, and a little less butter and milk. On a humid day, it takes about 1/4 cup, and on a dry day, a bit more. I've also made a mini-batch, to frost graham crackers for an impromptu after-school treat. Make a chocolate version, by stirring baking cocoa into the sugar before adding to milk and butter.
