PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

PLACE sugar in small, heavy-duty saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and golden. Quickly pour into eight 6-ounce ramekins or custard cups.

PLACE nectar, sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese and vanilla extract in blender or food processor; cover. Blend until smooth. Add eggs; blend until smooth. Pour into prepared cups. Divide cups between two 13 x 9-inch baking pans; fill pans with hot water to 1-inch depths.

BAKE for 35 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in centers comes out clean. Remove to wire rack to cool for 30 minutes; refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

RUN small spatula around edges of cups; gently shake flans to loosen. Invert onto serving dishes.

Didn't last long

My family loves flans so I am always on the lookout for a new recipe. We had this one for dinner tonight and everyone loved it. There was an extra one and my grandson started bidding on it as if we were at an auction. The bidding went up to $1.50 (it started at ten cents). I got to keep the money. My husband paid the money but everyone got a spoonful of it. I guess this one is a keeper

very easy, and fun to make, and eat.

These were very good, and a great change from cream brulee. I will make again.

New Family Favorite

This was a yummy recipe. We have had Flan before but this one was so easy and the kids loved it. I substituted peach nectar for the pear and it was great! Can't wait to try this with different flavors.
