Creamy Vanilla Bananas
Creamy Vanilla Bananas is a delicious Guatemalan dessert that combines the sweetness of fried bananas with a creamy vanilla sauce and a finishing touch of cinnamon. Enjoy it with Guatemalan coffee or a scoop of ice cream for a unique banana split.
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, divided
- 10 ripe bananas, peeled, fiber removed, divided
- 1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon

COMBINE evaporated milk, sugar, cornstarch and vanilla extract in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Remove from heat.
POUR sauce over bananas. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve warm.

different, a good different
This recipe should be with something to off set it, Kinda reminds me of fried bananas in Mexico, but with a nice sweet twist.
Hubby laughed when I told him I was going to try this! Know what...he's not laughing now, but he is SMILING. Yummmmmmmmmmmy
It tasted like the bananas foster we had when we were on vacation. I added a little alcohol to the adult servings and left the recipe as it is for the kids. I scraped a vanilla bean instead of using extract. It was a hit, they will be asking for it again here.

THIS RECIPE IS SO EASY MY KIDS DID MOST OF IT. BUT IT WAS REALLY GOOD WE EAT SO MANY BANANAS THAT WE HAD TO TRY THIS ONE. AND I WILL SAY THAT WE WILL BE MAKING THIS ONE FOR A LONG TIME TO COME WE HAD ICE CREAM WITH IT TO TOO GOOD. GREAT JOB
