  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:

PREHEAT oven to 325° F. Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

    Loved the Crumble topping

    Chrissy Spencer from Littleton, CO

I loved the topping. However, the cake itself didn't have too much of a peanut butter flavoring. I think it would be better with more pb. Very good overall. Beware of the cake sinking in the middle however.

My sixteen year old son loves Butterfingers. When I saw this recipe last year I knew he would like it for his birthday. It was such a hit that he asked for it again this year! The cake is moist and who doesn't like peanut butter and chocolate??

I had to bring a cake for work and I am usually not a huge chocolate cake fan but this cake is awesome! It did cave in at first and than it kinda puffed back out and thats when I figured it was done! This was a huge hit at work and very very moist!! love it!

If you like peanut butter and chocolate, this cake is for you!! I was afraid that the cake would be dry, but it was surprisingly moist and the butterfinger topping was the best part. Very easy to make.

Great way to shake up chocolate cake

    KRISTEN Cross from BATAVIA, IL

One of my kids is allergic to peanut butter, so I used the caramel swirls instead. Fantastic! I also substituted another candy bar instead of the Butterfinger. Everyone loved it.

    DELICIOUS!!!!!

    Catherine Cooper from Mobile, AL

I baked this cake last night and it turned out beautiful. I only made a few changes to the recipe: I lined my pan with foil and sprayed the foil with bakers joy. It was much easier and neater to cut the cake when you can take it out of the pan in one piece and then cut it. I had to give it an extra 5-10 mins to cook. I also did not skim on the morsels. I used more than the recipe called for, but I didn't measure them. I did not melt my morsels until I was ready to add them to my batter. If you do it at the beginning, they will harden up and be very hard to mix in. This is a very fun recipe. It is moist and delicious. I will definently make this again and again.

    Easy & Impressive

    Samantha Wilcoxson from

This recipe combines the best of baking - it's easy and people will love it. I made this for a family Christmas gathering. The cake is almost brownie-like. You can use separate chocolate and PB chips (cheaper) instead of the swirled ones because you just melt them anyway.

    So Moist and Delicious

Dana DiPietro from BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ

This cake was very delicious and easy to make. The middle did not sink in but it was a huge success. I brought half of it to a friends dinner party and the other half so my coworkers could enjoy. It went within minutes. The cake did bake for 45 min, I guess it all depends on how old or strong your oven is. But I would definitly make this again but maybe substitute the butterfinger for peanut butter cups!

  • Star(s)

    Chocolate-Peanut Butter Combo

    Buzzy Diamond from MEDIA, PA

The chocolate and peanut butter morsels combine to make a delicious frosting. In order to make sure I could beat the melted morsels into the batter, I melted them when I was ready to add them, not at the start, as suggested in the recipe. Also, since oven temperatures vary, I baked the cake for 30 minutes, checked it and discovered it was done.

    A very moist cake

    HEATHER STEPNIEWSKI from NASHVILLE, TN

Three days after I baked this cake I still got comments on how moist this cake was. It was also a lot of fun to make. The only trouble I had was that some of the melted chocolate hardened on impact with my metal blade and bowl in my mixer. But the cake turned out very well. Everybody asked what kind of frosting I used. It was hard to tell them it was just melted chips!
