    Deeply rich pie

    Stephanie Haggard from Worcester, MA

Excellent dark chocolate flavor. My only issue with this recipe is that the filling does not completely fill up the pie crust. I had about 1/4" between the top of the filling and the remainder of the pie cavity. It obviously didn't affect the flavor; it just looked off. However, this is an excellent recipe for those who prefer dark chocolate over milk chocolate.

    Not so great

    Acsa Buening from CARROLLTON, TX

I was really dissappointed with this recipe. It did not turn out as tall as in the picture, and it felt like eating pure melted chocolate on a crust. Too dense and rich. I will not make it again :-(

Yummy! Wonderfully chocolate-y and simple to prepare. The first pie firmed up nicely in three hours. The second didn't. It was still tricky to cut after chilling over night. This didn't stop anyone from gobbling it up! Will definitely make again.

    Fantastic Tasting Pie

    David Martin from

I have made this pie twice. The first time it came out perfect and tasted out of this world. Everyone at the birthday gathering simply thought it was the best chocolate pie. However, the second time I made it, the chocolate filling never firmed up. I exactly followed the same receipt both times, and am still at a loss at to what went wrong the second time. This pie is so tasty that I will try to make again in the future.

I made this pie for my family gathering during Christmas. Everyone loved it. I cut it in small slices so everyone could try it and some ate it right from their hand. It was wonderful. I can't wait to make another one. I have to hold myself back to keep from making it just for the family (we don't need the calories).

We used crushed chocolate graham crackers for the crust and used 62% cacao chocolatier chips instead of the chunks because we do not have a food processor and had them on hand. We also added 2 teaspoons instant coffee. It was really good.

what you wish for, chocolate lovers! This recipe is definitely not for the faint-hearted or borderline chocolatiers. This pie can serve from one to ten, easily, depending on your seriousness. Sure to become a staple in our family's recipe box, even though we don't have a food processor - used a blender. That's fine since you are working the chocolate hot. Thanks, Nestle's.
