My father in-law is diabetic and careful with his diet. It was a special day and I wanted to bake him a treat. I love the chocolatier brownie recipe, so I traded the cup of sugar for a 1/2 cup of Splenda Sugar Blend. They had half the carbs and all of the taste!! Thank you for such a deliciously rich, lower carb chocolate chip and brownie recipe!

    =] vegan

    angela cesena from Lynwood, CA

When i baked these brownies, i found that the chocolate sauce made the recipe too sweet. i also substituted each egg for half of a banana. the milk can also be replaced by soy milk. this leads to a healthier vegan recipe that's good for all ages.

Very good. They are not very sweet though, so don't expect that. I used the dark chocolate (53%) instead of the bittersweet (62%), and sprinkled with powdered sugar instead of chocolate drizzle. My husband is a big fan of dark chocolate so he really loved them.
