LINE baking sheets with wax paper.

MICROWAVE morsels and vegetable shortening in small, dry, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute; STIR. The morsels may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring just until morsels are melted.

DIP chips and pretzels into melted morsels, tilting bowl to easily dip. Use side of bowl to remove excess. Place on prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with Toppers. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until set. Store in airtight container at room temperture. Potato chips are best when eaten within a few hours of preparation.

• Chips and pretzels may be dipped in any variety of melted morsels and sprinkled with either flavor of Toppers.

• Above recipe can easily be doubled, but we do not recommend microwaving more than 2 cups (12 ounces) of morsels at one time.

I like to roll the dipped pretzel rods in chopped nuts or coconut or shake on colored sprinkles for variety. These are a big seller at bake sales!

dipped pretzles

I always wanted to know how they made dipped pretzels. Buy making them myself, I can save a bundle, and it's a safe enough recipe to make with my children. I know what I am making for next christmas.

dipped chips & pretzels

I love sweet and salty! and this recipe fills the bill. This will be a fun treat to give in tins for Christmas. I'm going to stir caramel pop corn in with the chocolate next time. Yummmmmm

Dipping chips, pretzels, etc.

I was making things to serve at a wedding reception. I used the melted morsels to dip fondants, nuts, and pretzels. I had some chocolate left over and decided to dip some potato chips. They were delicious, but their size and fragility made it difficult to make enough to serve many at the reception. Also, they are best if made the same day you plan to serve them. I found that if I added some paraffin wax to the melted morsels that I had a shinier product that hardened quicker. You can also add a small spoonful of shortening to the morsels instead of the wax with the same result.
