    DELICIOUS!!!

Pamela Overstreet from , Jonesboro, AR

I was wanting to find a recipe for brownies that had a stronger chocolate flavor than the boxed mixes. My husband is a brownie fanatic, and this hit the jackpot!!! We love it!

    Absolutely Wonderful

    Lisa Schwartz from MADISON, AL

I have made these brownies for years. The recipe that I have uses 1/3 Cup butter though, not the shortening. I make them for co-workers and friends for their birthdays. They are very disappointed if I don't make them.

    Great!

    COLLEEN HARRIGAN from Delmar, NY

I altered the recipe and replaced the Chocolate Chips with Butterscotch Chips and frosted with a white buttercream frosting. They were out of this world. I also doubled the size and used a 9x13 pan and cooked them for 40 minutes. They were perfection!

    Wonderful Brownies

    Suzanne Vestal from METAMORA, IL

I had planned to bring brownies to some friends home to eat while we played cards, I went to my cupboard only to find I didn't have a mix. So I went online and searched brownie recipes and found this simple and wonderful brownie recipe. I always keep chocolate morsels on hand -- so it was great for me, no trip to the store get a mix -- they are so good and easy to make, I might just be done with those mixes, the moistness and flavor just can't compare, thank you for sharing this with all of us bakers.

    Yum!

Kimberly Kisner from SAN ANTONIO, TX

These are really pretty darn good. I double the recipe and bake in a 9X13 pan for about 40 minutes. I like to use plain semi-sweet chips in the batter itself, and then use the peanut butter/chocolate swirl chips to add in at the last bit.

    Double Chocolate Brownies

    Mary Keeling from Paragould, AR

This recipe is pretty simple but having to bring this to boil is just a little to much for a good recipe most people like to just mix and bake it. But over all its not bad recipe will send this one to my son also to try it while he's gone over seas.

Thank you Nestle for thinking of our troops overseas! My husband is in Qatar right now and he's starting to get sick of the food over there, so this will be a nice treat for him.

    You did it again, Nestle!!!

K Collins from SIOUX CITY, IA

I was browsing the web looking for recipes that I could make and send to my nephew who is in Iraq. Since one of his favorite cookies are the "Chocolate Studded Dream Cookies" by Nestle Toll House, I decided to try their website. I was delighted to find that they had special recipes for me to try, and to be able to read the reviews and see that others had already had good luck sending them overseas took the guess-work out for me. I did a trial batch and we all gave them rave reviews. They are easy enough that my daughter can bake a batch for us and a batch to put in our care package to her cousin. It makes her feel like she is keeping us connected to her cousin in her own special way. What great results from a great recipe!!!!!

    Good Brownies

    Kim Ellis from SPRING, TX

This is a good brownie recipe. This recipe would also be good omitting the chocolate chips if you don't want a very sweet brownie. I substituted milk chocolate morsels for semi sweet (personal preference). Next time I make this recipe, it will probably be with half the chocolate chips, just to cut down a little on the fat content. This is a keeper!

    small but terrific recipe

    P Donaldson from

Since I was making this to send to Iraq I was disappointed that it had a small yield, but after I realized how easy it was to make, I saw no point in doubling it. The advantage of its size is that one can vary the kind of chips to add, with not much extra effort, and no bowls to wash. And with all the convenience, it's delicious!

I have had this recipe for many years and love how easy it is to make, as well as how moist the brownies turn out. In a pinch I substituted the swirled morsels after my husband devoured the bag of semi sweets, and it tasted great also. My 10 year old daughter requests them and I always make a double batch. I was glad to find the recipe here as my copy is beginning to fade in my recipe book
