Easy to assemble, easier to eat.

Very easy cookie to make and it is good to curb a chocolate hankering. I added a splash of cinnamon to the mix just to jazz it up but really, these are good either way.

I made these with a few adjustments to make them healthier. I used 1/2 sq. margarine and 1/4 c. applesauce, put in slightly less brown sugar, used 1/3 c. sugar and 1/4 t. stevia, 1 T. vanilla. Very delicious and brownie like. I may increase the margarine & applesauce just a little bit next time, but they still were fantastic!!!!

Great cookie to bring to a playdate. I often substitute the chocolate chunks for semi-sweet and white chocolate chips to make it a triple chocolate chip cookie.

    JUST RIGHT!

    Jeannette Swenson from Blanchardville, WI

These cookies are great! I substituted chocolate-mint swirl morsels for the chocolate chunk. It is just the right amount of mint. Can't beat mint and chocolate. Taking them to a bake sale this weekend, I know they will be gone.

    AMAZING!!!

    Jennifer Kitzman from ,

I substituted the chunks for dark chocolate morsels and added walnuts. They were amazing!! Both my husband and Mom don't care for chocolate but couldn't get enough of these. Not to sweet but pure chocolate decadence....

These cookies are delicious. They stay soft and are gooey in the middle. They are super sweet-not for the faint of heart when it comes to chocolate ;) But for avid choco-holics (like me), they are great. My only recommendation is to maybe stick the batter in the fridge for a bit so they are easier to handle and scoop on the baking sheets.

    VERY RICH

These make a wonderful cookie. The dough is more like cake batter and the cookies are really great, but very rich.

These cookies are amazing. Not only are they a great crowd-pleaser at parties, but they're also great to play with. I've done these with certain chocolate candy color combinations to make them festive, or a combination of white and milk chocolate chips to make them triple chocolate. I've had to give this recipe out to so many people; SO good!!

    BEST. COOKIES. EVER.

    Aimee Vondrak from Mesa, AZ

I have just recently REALLY been into baking the last couple years, and decided this summer between graduating from college and taking one more year of classes before I move to California, I ought to take up something more challenging/more interesting than Nestle's original choc chip cookie recipe (although it has never failed me and I love them to death)... These HAVE to be THE best cookies I have ever baked OR tasted, and I have been making cookies since I was little. Everyone I've given them to has complimented on their flavor, texture, and overall quality. This is a GREAT recipe. But BE WARNED!! These cookies are EXTREMELY sweet and SUPER chocolaty (I even used semi-sweet chocolate whenever possible). GREAT cookies! Thanks to the Tollhouse for making this a big hit at my work AND at my mom's work!

I received this recipe from a friend after she had made these for a party. I have made these for my own family, and find I must hide them in order for me to get one. Great recipe, and I agree with others that this is a great go along with the original Toll House cookies. Thanks for sharing!

I made these cookies yesterday with my 4 yr old and the whole family loved them. Nice and chewy. Due to a nut allergy I omitted the nuts and replaced them with soynuts in 1/3 of the batter. Turned out very well. Had to hide them b/c the kids and my hubby wanted to finish them off! :) Will make again.

    Wow!

    LISA LOMBARDO from Blackwood, NJ

This recipe sure lived up to all the good reviews. These cookies are absolutely delicious! They are chewy and chocolatey and quite divine! Just make sure you do NOT overbake them, unless you like your cookies crisp. Oh, and to add, I did use half butter flavor Crisco and half butter because I like a puffier cookie. I also used 1/2 whole wheat pastry flour. You can't even detect it, yet it makes them a slight more wholesome. You won't be disappointed in these cookies if you are a chocolate lover!

    GREAT COOKIES!!!

    adelya mamedova from ny

I love these cookies. My mom was eating them as soon as I made them!! A bit of advice, do use an ungreased cookie sheet. I personally used wax paper and it worked perfect. i also kept it in for 20 min because the first batch, which I left for 15 were a little soft and one cookie came apart. 20 min worked excellent for my oven. You just have to test it out accoring to your own oven. Good luck!!

Yum Yum, I made it two ways, since my ppl are not used to soft chewy cookies which I myself indulge very much .. I made Half dough in to chewy ones and another into more crispy ones. Both are great, my co-workers just cant have enough of them^^
