Absolutely delicious! This was not difficult to make, but sensational to serve. An easy cake to travel with or serve, as it's prepared in the pan to serve from the pan. I also poked holes in the cooled cake so the topping would drizzle into the cake; served with freshly whipped cream it is delicious. My family wants more!

Awesome cake! I made it for a Cinco de Mayo party for youth. The kids and the adults loved it! It was different to make, but not difficult. My family has already requested I make it again- its the first time they've liked something that isn't chocolate!

carla marshall from BELLE FOURCHE, SD

I love this one, it's just a great idea putting the caramel in this one. this makes the cake. and so easy to make too. I like to put the French Vanilla wipped topping on it instead of the original. but they still taste great with either one.

I made this cake for my brother at Thanksgiving(2005) and he just loved it. It was not as difficult to make as I thought it would be; as a matter of fact I had so much fun making it that I think I am going to do it again this year. My family just can't seem to get enough of it.

Everyone that tasted this demanded the recipe. A five year old wanted it for his Mom. Way easier to make than I anticipated. I have made it 6 times because of requests.

This cake is fantastic! I brought it to Latin food day at work, and it was gone in no time. It is really easy to make (I mess up everything I try, especially baking), but it did take a long time since you have to wait for everything to cool. I used french vanilla cake mix, poked holes so the caramel could run into the cake and drizzled the whipped cream top with caramel. Next time I won't cool down the caramel layer as much, since it was a little hard to spread.

I needed a cake for a picnic and I made this one. Only thing, I added "toffee bits" to the cake mix then I poked holes in the cake for the Caramel sauce to run down into cake before "topping". It was very good. Will definitely make again.

I make this cake with a slight variation. I make the cake in a bundt pan. After you make the dulce de leche pour it over the cake and then let it set. It has always been a favorite at our school fall bake sale.

I made a Dulce de Leche Cream Cake over the weekend for my family. Everyone loved it. It was all gone the same day. I have one tip. It’s easier to spread the caramel spreading over the cake when it’s a little warm. This cake is a must try!

    Amy Richards from NORRISTOWN, PA

This cake was a hit! I made a homemade yellow cake, instead of using the box mix. The caramel layer made the cake -- make sure you find the Dulce de Leche caramel sauce. Note though that each layer must cool before completing the next -- so ensure you give yourself enough time.

    Stephanie Silver from CAMARILLO, CA

This cake was very good. It was also very easy to make. The middle layer does not sit well on the cake. Maybe next time I make this, I will poke holes in the cake to allow the milk layer to be absorbed better.

    Dulce de Leche Cream Cake

    Kathy Kittell from LENEXA, KS

This recipe is very simple to make, though I did a few changes (probably not necessary). Used a white cake mix as stated, then after the cake cooled I poked holes throughout the cake. Drizzled and spread the caramel topping over the cake. Cooled and topped with the whipped cream as mentioned in the recipe. The cake does have a good texture and flavor to it, but it wasn't exactly what I was hoping to achieve.

    KIM DEMPSEY from EAGLE, WI

I made this cake today and my family loved it...I will see how the whipped cream stays though, I always get nervous with whipping cream. Looks so impressive! This would make a wonderful cake to make for company! Lots of time involved, but well worth it!

    Very Surprising!

Erica Murphy from DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI

I am still learning to bake and I will be quite honest, I was a little nervous about making this cake. I thought it sounded fragile and could be ruined easily. I was very happy with the finished product ( as was the rest of my family), and how easily I made it. I was very proud of the good job I had done, and I will continue to make this for gatherings!

I made this cake and took it to work. It was a huge hit! Several people asked for the recipe. It wasn't hard to make and the instructions were easy to follow. One bit of advice...if your cake isn't level, the whipped cream will want to slide off the cake. The corners are where I had the toughest time with the whipped cream. Although it bothered me, nobody else seemed to care! Enjoy!

I had to make this cake for a class for school and everyone loved it. My class only consisted of four other people so I still had half of the cake to take home. In about 30 minutes, my boyfriend and the rest of my family devoured the rest! We are having a big party for prom and everyone wants me to make it again! It was very, very good!

    A Big Hit!

    JB from Illinois

I took this to a party with friends from Mexico and it was a big hit. I substituted the carmel ice cream topping for "Cajeta", which is very similar in Mexico (you can get it at an international or Mexican grocery store). I didn't think that it was too sweet, as was mentioned in another review, but I think that "cajeta" is a little less sweet than caramel, so that may be why. Enjoy!
