I love pumpkin and was disappointed in this recipe. I didn't think it had much of a pumpkin taste and I actually prefer my oatmeal the way I normally make it- just a mashed up bananna and a little brown sugar. I won't be making this again. It wasn't bad, just not very tasty.

My children and I weren't too crazy about this. The pumpkin was too strong and we couldn't taste the maple syrup. I will try again, but add cinnamon and sugar in place of the syrup.

Tried this for breakfast with my boys this morning and it was a big hit! We love oatmeal anyway and are always looking for variations. The pumpkin was a great way to spice it up on a cold winter morning! Thanks for the great idea!!

I tried this recipe this morning, I did add chopped walnuts to the mix, as I like them with my oatmeal. It was delicious, my husband and son liked also.

I have to say we did not care for this. Were not much on the oatmeal to begin with. I will try again only with pumpkin pie spice. I'm hoping for an improved flavor.

I really could not taste the pumpkin in the Oatmeal. This is a great idea though as it adds extra vitamins to an already "good for you" breakfast.

    Power to the Pumpkin!!

    nikki pals from PALATINE, IL

I eat steel cut oatmeal (Much heartier than instant) and I look for something extra to add "sweetness" with out adding sugar. Well the pumpkin added that something extra. It added a richness that I did not expect. Don't usually get that without a lot of extra calories not to mention the vitamins you get with the pumpkin. And there is no "fake" taste like you get with the preflavored packaged stuff. I did also use this with the regular 1 min oatmeal and the pumpkin really improved the flavor of that.

    You Must Try This

    Cheri Franz from Portland, OR

This is an excellent breakfast treat. We eat oatmeal five mornings a week and thought we tried every addition possible - until now. This is a tasty, hearty and satisfying meal. Pure maple syrup takes it over the top. Yum!
