I made this one night after the kids had late Dr.'s appt.s and there was not a whole lot of time to prepare dinner. I thought that it was great and the kids also ate it really good, though they did not think that it was exception. I will make it again when I am again pinched for time.

I made the Sausage Macaroni Supper for my husband and myself and it passed the taste test for my husband. He even wanted a second helping which he never does. I didn't add the cheese on top and he thought it was still very good. "good enough for a second helping". I would definitely recomend this dish to anyone for a quick and easy supper.

I liked it, my grandkids did not

Susan Campbell from GRASS LAKE, MI

There were too many flavor conflicts in this dish. I made it again using ground beef, and the kids were shy about tasting. Turns out it was the sausage flavoring they didn't like, and they ate the beef version willingly. Not really their favorite...........

    unique, strong flavor

    Jessie from Bryan, Texas

This dish was very easy to prepare, and the sausage made it unique. The chili sauce was a little stong for my liking, so I'll try it again with only half the amount. My husband loved it just the way it was. We'll definitely try this again.

I made this recipe with regular sausage instead of Italian Sausage. It made it really spicy. I used fat free evaporated milk and it came out great. My husband liked it and that was what counts. I also added a little garlic salt and used more cheese. Makes great leftovers!

Quick - Tasty - Italian - what more do you want?

Sherri Petersen from El Paso, TX

Tried this recipe with a few modifications: used 1/2lb.@ mild Italian sausage & very lean ground beef; 1@ whole red & green bell peppers; 1 entire med. onion, chopped; evaporated SKIM milk; and mild salsa (instead of chili sauce.) It came out tasting wonderful, still rich, even though the milk was skim, and the vegetables are not only delicious, they also help stretch the meal. In addition, using 1/2 ground beef stretches the expensive Italian sausage. If the flavor isn't strong enough, add a little Italian seasoning. This recipe doubles well, and would be a great potluck dinner dish.

I tried this recipe, which is easy to make and has a pleasant taste. I added 1 cup of cheese instead of the recommended 1/2 cup. My family likes cheese. I'd make this again, it could be made ahead of time and reheated and served.

    Alison Benn from Tigard, OR

I would not try this again. My family did not enjoy it at all. Easy to make and kids will gobble it up, but the adults did not enjoy this. Since we don't like bell peppers I didn't add them so maybe that had something to do with the taste......I have deleted this from my recipe box and will not serve it to adults again.

Good dish but needs some modification

    Cindy Swainbank from PA

This was a good dish. I would never use sausage with this combination of ingredients but lean ground beef worked very well. I used a combination of chili sauce and salsa, but I had to add salt and pepper as the taste was too bland. The onion and green pepper lend a good flavor as well. It was a good dish for a quick meal, and even my picky 8-year-old ate it, so I will make this again.
